Just drove friend's '06 WRX STI...
GOD...does that thing pull hard!!! Well, I just wanted to share my experience with you guys. My friend's older brother also has an '04 Nissan 350Z. I didn't get to drive the 350Z, but I imagine it would pull just as hard as the WRX STI. Then after I drove the STI, I came back to drive my tC...it was a weird feeling...

It's also cool how the turbo stays on to cool down even after you turn off the engine. I was confused as to why the engine was still on even after i took out the key. My friend told me that the turbo needs to cool down first and then it'll shut down itself. Pretty neat!
Oh and that wing spoiler is huge! I can't see anything out the back of the window. It also has HIDs stock! The STI also seems hella light too. Feels like there is no weight at all!
Anyone who hasn't drove one should go and drive one. Just for the hell of it.
One last thing is that when you hit redline on the STI, there is are a series of beeps that tells you that you need to change gears. Is that cool or what?

350z = high 13 second car.
STi/EVO = low 13 second/high 12 car
Personally I like the EVO alot more then all 3 of them.

I really would like to trade my tC in for a EVO IV RS, but for $29k I would really like to have some minor options like power windows, locks, or a stereo. The only option it has is A/C.
The regular IV and the MR have the nice options but cost alot more. The MR at the local dealership here has a sticker that says $37,200 (which is about 1,200 over MSRP for no reason)
It would just be nice to have something that is capable of running a 12.8-12.9 bone stock and responds awesome to mods. Really the only very weak thing on the car is the clutch, other then that and resale value it's not too bad of a deal.

There was a brand new 06 STI at the local 1/8th track, and you can smell the clutch burning on it each time the guy took off.
And I don't think they are 12.8/12.9 sec. cars stock. They are slower than that.

Even that car is still not 12.8/12.9 stock.

Especially when the new Skyline GTR is suppose to be powered by a VQ32/35DETT with 500hp 500lbs. Possible GTR Powered 350Z's might be coming to an interstate near you
Then again, you can call me bias...I have a 350Z.

It must suck having to get gas for your 350Z as a daily driver. A friend of mine has an 03/04 350Z in automatic transmission and he hates getting gas for it. He went and bought a Camry as a daily driver. He stopped driving the 350Z and it's just eating dust outside of his garage.

It sucks major, but I think I would shoot myself if I drove a Camry and let my Z collect dust.

On evolutionm.net the best reported time for a EVO IV RS is 12.7. Several people have gone 12.8-12.9 stock.
It's hard to find one that is stock however, because a TBE, intake, custom tune and MBC will get you low low 12's, stock tires. And also the IV has only been out for less than a year.
Even motor trend who is known for hitting crappy times ran a 13.0 with the RS.
