Mazda6 any info?
They're coming out with a redesign later this year. And I wanted to know a couple things about the current Mazda6 or future Mazda6 if you know..
1 - Are there reliability issues with the mazda6? engine trouble, transmission trouble, etc.
2 - Are the Mazda dealers known for bad work? Excuses for warranty?
Anything else anyone would like to add about the mazda6, feel free.

u might wanna find a mazda forum... since most of us are scion owners and we only know how toyota works with their warranty and stuff.. u'd get more info on their services and how the 6 runs by talking to current mazda owners
oh i know this is a Scion forum ;) I have a tC. lol.. but thought I'd ask since it was in "all other vehicles".
Yeah I will check out edmunds, didn't know if they had anything yet on the 2009 Mazda6.. Thanks.

Before the tc I was testing the Mazda6 V6, the power is pretty good when you wanna get up and go. I tested the auto, so I don't know how the manual would differ. The hps comparison without regard to weight is pretty good, but yeah I don't know too much about Mazdas..
i remember those cars in the 90's.. I laughed so hard, Im pretty sure a guy on a bicycle beat them down hill! hahaha.. Make sure your insurance policy is up to date before driving the rat powered car! It's like an SUV would squash it like a bug in an accident! lol
I can't believe I'd ever drive one. They did hit 50mpg, but so did the Honda Civic VX, CRX HF.

Solid cars with good handling, but overdue for a redesign. V6 is great, the 4 cylinder is a good motor but it just doesn't have enough low end torque to make it satisfying to drive in the 6. As long as you go with the 6 cylinder it's a good buy IMO. Reliability is good from everything I've seen. No reason to worry about service either. I've not heard anything negative about them. Just my 2 cents.
thanks xD2B, I appreciate it. Was just curious about the past, to know if the new Mazda6 was worth taking a look. Thanks for the info! Oh and the new 6 was supposed to have a more powerful 4-cyl this time around. and the car is supposed to weigh less too.

They both have the Auto V6. No mechanical issues from what I understand, although my friends had a CEL come on at 1k miles for some TSB, don't remember what tho, something minor. My sister has leaks in her sunroof and rear window, major problems with the dash lights (they greatly dim down after about a year and my sister has 2 lights completely dead now) and some rattles. My friend's has rattles, speaker's pop and crackle (Bose), parts just fall off the car (3 of his 5 bolts for his fuel door just fell out and the interior door light cover falls off when you close the door). It's mostly minor stuff, but it's the kind of stuff that makes you think about the overall build quality of the vehicle. I'd honestly suggest steering away from the vehicle, especially since 09/10 will have a remodel coming out.
my bro's x ex-girlfriend has one, and from that we have all decided to NEVER BUY A MAZDA EVER AGAIN!
hers has has problem after problem since two days after she bought it. the throttle body locked up and stalled the engine, wouldn't start or move. then later on, she would have the same problem several times, but each time they said it was something different that broke so she couldn't lemon law it because it wasn't the same part failing, yet for some reason the problem was the same.
so no, just say no to the mazda 6. and btw hers was a v6 with a manual transmission.

That is worth more than a bunch of anecdotal evidence from me or anyone else will ever be.
For every person that tells you it's great car, there will be another who has an uncle who has a cousin who's brother bought one and it threw a rod at 1000 miles.
Statisitical data is relevant when it comes to reliability, opinions, not so much.
the redesign is really sweet looking but i couldve sworn i saw that it wasnt coming to the US for a WHILE....
while i love the look of some mazdas (the 3 and the rx-8 ) i owned 3 in my last car, and i had it in my dealership at least 10 times for a number of things...i was about to lemon law the car and it was totaled in an acccident.
this is it though...
