Default MazdaSpeed 3

I'm seriously thinking about purchasing this car when it comes out.. It's suppose to be out pretty soon, and it's going to have the same engine from the mazdaspeed 6 (2.3 Turbo). 270hp and 280torque. That's alot of power for such a small cars.

Does anyone know if those engine's respond good to mods or not?

It's suppose to be "well under" 25k.

Not really since it's bigger than the tC and probobly weights more too. Power to weight will probobly be similar.

It said 263hp & 280torque on their website. Starting at $22,800.

It has a different ECU to take away some power in 1st & 2nd gear (I guess for torque steer and wheel hop issues).. A flash to correct that would definately be the first thing I would do.

The mazda 6 which weighs 400 lbs. more runs a very low 14 to a high 13 @ around 100mph.. The mazda 6 is AWD but I could still see this car running a high-mid 13 with good performance tires.

I'm just not sure if they respond good to mods or if they're good engines.

Oh, I got confused by the title of the forum and then the first post. Is this for the MazdaSpeed 3 series or MazdaSpeed 6 series?

Power to weight will probably be similar to what? The tC??? Not a chance.

Mazdaspeed 3: 263hp & 280torque / 3,100lbs.
tC: 160hp & 163torque / 2,900lbs.

Also, the mazda hits full torque at 3,000 RPMs and holds it all the way to a 6,800RPM redline.

As I said just now, is this forum for the 3 series or the 6? I was comparing the 6 series but did not realize it was AWD either.

I was just at the Mazda/Subaru dealer dropping off my Mazda3. If I wasn't in the middle of building a house, I would buy that CX-7!!

The 6 is definately out of my price range.. But the 3 is suppose to be 22-23k, which is alot closer to my price range.

The tC definately has the 3 beat the looks department but I'm starting to care less about looks and more about speed/power.

tC>Mazda3
tC<Mazdaspeed3
I own both the tC and the Mazda3 so I can make this statement.
