Default MK V GTI Consumer Reports give a favorable review!!

the GTI was rated higher than the Si, Scion tC, WRX TR, Focus ST, Cobalt SS, , base Mini, RSX, Tiburon and Eclipse GS, and rated lower than none.

I don't consider the tC in a class with any of those. Maybe the Mini and Tiburon, possibly Eclipse or Focus.

Did you know that, according to the same Consumer's Reports, that a 3 year old toyota is more reliable than a brand spankin' new VW. Also, VW's have more problems per 100 vehicles than GM, Ford, or Chrysler. Just thought you might want to know that.

So, by "rating" I assume you must mean the highly opionated and subjective ratings, and not the objective reliablitly ratings which are determined by actual data.

did u know that u know nothing about the new mk v vw's how improved they are... ya i think u dont... VW custumer service is far better then anyone elses also...

and did u know that there are no recalls for the new gti reason why cause it was out and europe for 2 years...VW will be back to its old roots as being very relieable...

Only cause their cars from 97-01 gave eletrical problems doesn't mean its always gonna be a problem FOREVER..Remember the engineers they hired for the new MK V line of cars are the highest paid best engineers in the world who created and designed the cars...sooo VW WILL BE BACK UP THE CHARTS whihc is why they are as of 06 CR issue...

You won't know about reliability until 5 years or so from now. Data don't lie.

Don't get me wrong, I love to drive VW's, but a car that has more problems per 100 vehicles than Chrysler? CHRYSLER! And after 8 years more than double the problems of a Toyota or Honda!

It wouldn't be a bad car to lease on a short term, provided your local VW dealer has a loaner program, or it's your 2nd or 3rd car to choose from in your driveway :D

haha this again. I love the new gti great power good price good support for more power but you dont just suddently overcome 10 years of unreliability to the most reliable car no matter how they tested it point is the vw gti WILL start having problems down the line. On the other hand people who buy the new gti will modify it a lot and by then who cares what else goes wrong because youll be replacing a lto of parts anyways.

uhh how can u say that vw because they were unrelieable cause of eletricly problems for like 8 years means its always gonna give problems like they are doin it on purpose sellin like that..U dont know about the new mk v so dont judge it when u dont know how relieable they are ..maybe toyotas will b un relieable 1 day for a few years u never know doesn't mean only cause they were unrelible for a couple years its always gonna stay like that..u have to remember VW has the higest paid best engineers in the world for the MK V models..
