I don't check scionlife much anymore, but every time I get an email about this thread being updated I make sure to check it out as soon as possible. I don't know too much about rx7s or rotary builds, but it's cool following along with the progress. Keep the pics coming!

At SEMA update...

Sorry for the lack of update.. I'm going to share my experience at SEMA.

Well, as you guys have read, I have put the car together in 6 out of 8 days after chasis was painted. Due to lack of time, car is a roller... which made it very difficult at SEMA.

First, we couldn't unload the car until we were placed at a certain location to unload. We waited over 2 hours between central and south hall, waiting someone for us to goto a specific location to unload.

Finally after 2 hours, we were moved to front of central to unload the car.

Name: SEMA_2012_FD3S_Vegas_Strip09.jpg
Views: 120
Size: 138.4 KB

From here, they couldn't figure out where I was suppose to park. We now waited another 2 hours til someone figured out where I needed to park.. which was front of North Hall.. a good 1/4 mile away from where we drop the car off, through the central hall, to North hall.

Waiting to be moved.. again..

While waiting, Enjuku Racing posted this photo on their facebook page... First photo to be leaked with all the panels on..

And finally made it to my spot... and before decals got on.

I wish I could get to SEMA...no hook up's though :/ looks like a blast. My g/f has family out there so I wouldn't even need to pay for a hotel and I only live like 3-4 hour drive..ughh lol oh well.

Car looks amazing. Love the work and attention to detail. Once again just want to say great job!

We didn't have time to really finish the interior pieces.. So, when I got back from SEMA, I pulled them out and sent them to Goolsby Customs to get it refinished.. They were ready today and picked them up!

That gauge is sick. I almost had those same wheels for my FC back when I had it. Ended up getting CR Kai's.

Wow. This is an incredible build. Personal preferences aside - I'm not sure how anyone can not appreciate the quality and attention to detail here. Outstanding. Thanks for sharing.

Are you talking about the TE37SL's? IF so they are new by Rays (less than a year old). FYI: I'm bit of a wheel snob and CR Kai (not CR Ultimate) are cast wheels. Even CR Ultimates are cast with spun barrels... which RAYS Gram Lights been doing for 10+ years and they call it cast. Only true forge wheels are RAYS - VOLK series and BBS Monoblock forged wheels. All other makes that claim forge aren't quite forging you want.

Holy crap this thing is insane. While I didnt read everything, did you strap this beast to the dyno (not that numbers matter, just curious).

This thing is just a monster. Fantastic job on this build.

Herbleny: I have a good read from you that just came across my email inbox today -

its the Classic Mazda RX7 buyers guide (years 79-85) from Motor Trend. I found it entertaining, and as you have the best of the "rex", I figured you could give this a read!

Today, I swapped out the Volks with R888s to more streetable wheel/tires. Tires are Toyo T1-Sport wrapped around BBS MonoForged wheels. I am a fan or older Toyo T1S and T1R and was told the new T1-Sports are quiet, grippy, and responsive. Which after driving around today for over an hour through back country roads, highway pulls, sitting on traffic , I like the T1-Sport.
