the new Lexus GS

the new Lexus GS
just went for a brief run in the new Lexus GS300 AWD, which is a loaner for our LX which is getting maintenance right now.
WOW is it a big change from Scion. Toyota has done very well to distinguish between low end and high end lines with their lineup.
The V6 in the GS is extremely responsive and growls very nicely under WOT.
Steering is quite responsive for a Lexus, as my experience with the RX300 was that it was too forgiving and loose.
The cabin feels a bit tight, but so does almost every car after being the in xB.
There are a million controls surrounding the driver, but they are pretty intuitive and the Lexus touch screen nav is always a pleasure to work with.
Sound is awesome with all the insulation.
After the brief jaunt, I can say that the new GS is a very capable and enjoyable car. It's a good investment for upcoming executives or big movers and shakers. Get the AWD if you go for the 300, or if you have the $$$, go for the 400h.
Sweet.
