The tc's quarter mile is 15.7 sec @ 88 mph, 0-60 in 7.4
The civic's quarter mile is 15.1, 0-60 in 6.8
the Tc is a much better value at $16,500 compared to the SI's $21,000 the Tc pretty much keeps up with the si times pretty well, the tc with the supercharger im hearing will run mid 14's, and at that the tc pretty much matches up price wise with the civic, but it beats it in the times, not to mention the tc has much more torque than an Si, has more potential.

i like both.......they both have alot of potential. They are both made by two of the best car companies out, Im curious to see how well they put the civic together, thier are some areas of the Tc i can tell they skimped, the Tc is my first toyota product ive ever owned, ive always owned hondas or chevy's, but overall im pretty satisfied with my Tc, the value is nothing to sneeze at, and for 21k for the Si, it better be very well built....

tC. Its almost as fast stock and way cheaper. Has torque so its nice around town driving without always needing to downshift. Everybody else doesnt have one. You could get the SC and be faster for about the same price.

I so was going to get the new si even though i was in love with the tC, but then i relized what a rip it wuz. Not to mention just lame. Ur gonna look like every other car out there in two more months. Everyones gonna wanna jack ur poop if you get the si, and have you seen that front end. Nothing beats the way the tC looks, i think it looks alot better than most things on the road. Oh and by the way be ready to shift like a ****, thats the perk of the six speed. On top of all that the guy in the stock corvette is going to beat you anywayz.

2) Looks are subjective, I personally like both cars' style. I think the front fascia of the new Si is actually quite aggresive.
3) If you are complaining about shifting the SI, then the car really isn't meant for you. Thats half the joy of driving a DOHC i-VTEC Honda. Anyways, it actually has a decent amount of torque and a rather flat torque curve. Should be a nice cruise at 6th gear on the highway.
4) A stock corvette will destroy many cars, including cars that cost way more than it. I dont see how that is a relevant point to not getting an Si.

this was my dilemma. last week decided on the tC.
the SI is sweet, but i'll never be able to swallow that new civic front. if it had more an accord's front design, i'd probably still be struggling with my choice..............

Well, I've always understood that Honda's are a bit more tunable which means you may be able to get a higer-performing car in the end...but one that looks like a thousand other cars on the road. I saw a new Civic 4-door (yes, I know we are talking about SI) and it was ugly as crap. Looks like a Cobalt almost.
As far as tc's being unique...not any more! When I bought my tc like 6 months ago, I would see one, maybe 2 everyday on the road. That was in addition to the 3 other people who own a tc at my job, and the other RS1.0 I see everyday sitting in the same shopping plaza (obviously, that person must work in that plaza).
Lately, within the last few weeks, I've seen more and more tc's. I see 4 or 5 everyday on the road (mostly new 06s with that new light blue color). And at my job, there are now 6 people total (including me) that own tc's. I've even seen more RS1.0s on the road!! So the 'exclusive' party is coming to an end. No big deal though. Look at the Mustang...cool car that a million people own.
It only encourages me to find way to modify mine to make it look different. I'm keeping an eye out for a decent body kit (not some rice-crap). Eventually I'm going to get a new grill and rims too, just to be different.

Just from an aesthetic POV, I think the tC has more style and class than the Si. That tends to be the opinion of the 'average Joe' as well. Heck I think it has more class and is just different looking enough to outshine MANY comparable cars on the road. But thats just me :? The power differences would be negligable I think. Especially to someone looking to mod the engine/tranny.
