Redesign my ___...It actually looks just like what they did with the FD RX-7. Killed the US model, and made the Japanese model better looking. Cept I guess this time we're actually going to get this one. Looks better that the current one, much more aggressive.

The general design is almost the same but the changes were: front bumper, rear bumper, fenders, headlights, taillights, seats, center console, steering wheel, gauge cluster is slightly different. Just drop in a 20B 3-Rotor engine and get that thing over 600 hp and you're good.

It's no FD thats for sure.
The FD RX7 was the pinnacle of Mazda sportcar development IMO. The RX-8 makes too many compromises and the extra rear door just looks like sh-t. It's a sports car. Stop trying to make it a practical grocery getter and where did the turbos go?
Nice car, sure, but the FD was just AWESOME in it's purity of purpose and it looked like a work of art inside and out. The RX-8 not so much.

No seriously, that Renesis should put atleast 300 out, N/A, but emission standards say otherwise

Ya the Renesis engine is an incredibly effective engine. Putting out the power of a 2.6L in a 1.3L. Now the 3 rotor 20B engine is a beast. That engine with a nice turbo can put out over 800 whp. Not gonna even mention the 4 rotor engines used in racing.
xD2B: I agree that the FC and FD were incredible and pure sports cars with lots of power and good handling. The RX8 however has incredible handling out of the box. The car has 50/50 weight distribution, high-revving 9000 rpm range, very quick car. No big turbo but great car non the less. The 8 isnt a drag racing car, its meant to be taken to the road and road tracks. Its not a weekend racer that has an obscene amount of hp that can only go in a straight line, its a drivers car for the people that wanna take this car out on the winding roads.
Btw out of the FD3S 10 year run, it was only sold in the US for 3 years because of the poor sales here.
Also, the RX9 and the 16X engine are scheduled to come out within the next 2-4 years.

Ya RX8 enthusiasts are rotary nuts and the cool thing about mazda is that they feed into that because thats what the fans want... unlike scion (Release Series). You got your wheel spokes forming rotary designs, the hood has a big rotary symbol, the current model seats have a rotary cut into them, rotary in the shift ****, rotary in the lip of the front and rear spoiler, etc.

I understand that Mazda had to make the car more mainstream. A lot of other dedicated enthusiasts cars have gone by the wayside because of low sales (Toyota MR2 comes to mind)
I understand it from a marketing standpoint. All I am saying is that the FD really inspired passion for me. I see an RX-8 and its just looks like a nice Mazda coupe with a retarded Saturn 3rd door on it to me. The FD was lightweight, all business and nearly perfect and the exclusivity made it even more appealing. RX-8's are almost as common as Mazda 3's. Nothing special about them really..
