Default Scion Owner and Chrysler Corp.

I didn't know where to put this at...

About month ago, I was looking through Monster.com. Did a search on warehousing since I can operate all warehouse equipment and currently work in material handling. I saw Milwaukee Chrysler plant/warehouse had opening for forklift operating. So I did application. Month later, they call me back today asking me to call them back for their testing process for employment. I have to call them back tomorrow. I'm not sure if its UAW position or if its "temp to hire." Apparently, they love seeing my basic computer skills, college level education, and warehouse experience in a 400,000+ sq ft building at a nationally known company on the application.

This test session is five hours long and I currently work nights so not sure how I'm going to do that. But I agreed to work in a loud environment (since I did work for two years in dog kennel setting) and to wear factory safety clothes. I'll work in those conditions if they give me day hours! I miss having a life outside of work.

I realize something....if hired in, I'm going to drive a Toyota made product to a Chrysler plant every day! Probably get ripped for it!

My mom's ex-boyfriend works for GM, he would tell me stories of what they did to others who drove a non GM vehicle to the plant. One that stood out was when they plowed the lot around and onto a guys import.

LOL

IF (General)... got that bad. I'll probably buy used Sebring. Keep the whole "Toyota love" quiet from everyone else while saying "The Scion is my boyfriend's car."

why is there a 5 hour test to drive a fork-lift? Shoot, I'm a computer technician and the longest test I'VE taken for a job was just 30 minutes, LOL

I was scanning through their employment site last night and came upon employment packet. Gave examples. Testing ability of basic math, reading. They also said assembling parts while getting timed. I'm probably guessing there's some match these numbers and figure out the next number like "1,2,_4" (I had to do that for my current job.) Any one I knew their father or their mother worked for Chrysler was least making close to $25-32 hour. They were union.

So in other words....they can test anyone for pre-employment. Hell, if this goes well. I have to go through a medical screening and if that goes well then I take my drug test.

^^^ I currently make $16.00 thats still above average wage w/o degree around here. Companies around here don't offer enough. Except for SC Johnson Wax (the Windex company), Chrysler, Audi & VW (has parts warehouse & rumored to pay $22.00.) Other than that, you'll have to go with Illinois companies like Abbott Labs, Uline Shipping Supplies, Granger. I can't work for Granger; due to employer privacy contract I signed.

I'm taking the test tomorrow at 8:30 am.

^^^I also thought of that route. Toyota's Parts warehouse is in Aurora, IL. About two hours away from here. So if I did do that...I'll have to move to Aurora.

Corp. HR already gave me this...

yeah I do promotions from them and go in and out of their nor-cal business center/parts wharehouse.

TONS of new cars , corporate leases , ping pong tables for breaks , great medical , HUGE area for raises and company wide employment/progression into sales or withing material handling.

That would explain why you're able to own IS350 & tC. Not many early 20's people can own two cars; specially a Lexus. When I saw you post one time; I saw you owned both and wondered "How can she afford a Scion and a Lexus??? She must make bank."

You guys think Toyota can help me a little with moving expenses if I got offered? Although I am crazy enough to commute the two hours every day. Even with gas prices. Just let me find old Corolla to drive to the ground. Maybe one day, I'll drive down to Aurora and see how long it really takes to get down there while speeding. I have feeling it's much shorter.

^^^^ I took this picture at work. I'll give someone 10 points for guessing who owns that building behind my car? Yamaha Midwest warehouse is few doors down. Which 1 out of three cars are Toyota made. Hell, their company cars are 4Runners and they leave them parked there overnight.
