more information from thecarconnection.com
The t2b concept on the show floor sports far-out features like a power-sliding side door on one flank and suicide doors on the other, an MP3-player dock, twin skylights over the back seats and a tickertape-style dash readout that also shifts its color. A new 2.4-liter powerplant is anticipated for the design.
who has a picture of the twin skylights?

hmm... i can just imagine the future posts when the t2b comes out about rock chips -- as if the current xB is not prone enough to them...
I agree. I'll bet the first day you drove it on any highway you would get a rock chip.

I like the concept. I even like the fog light. I don't like the "minivan" sliding door. I also wonder how much body flex it has with the door configuration? I don't like the seats nor the instrument panel. The roof panel lights, moon roof or what ever you call it is cool. The profile looks sleek and has a chopped look to it. But the front and rear need work. Keep the headlights but work on the grill. The rear looks to much like the cube. But overall I like the concept.

If it's designed from the start to have big openings on the sides (like the RX-8, for instance) then it should not have a problem with body flex. Personally, I like the idea of the sliding door on one side (for curbside pick-ups and drop-offs, or loading and unloading cargo) and the dual doors on the other side.

It doesn't really matter whether people like it or not. The final vehicle will prolly not even resemble this anyway. They always find a way to screw it up. I'm just glad they got the BOX right the first time and it doesn't matter what they come up with. I plan on getting many years of enjoyment out of my ORIGINAL SCION!

If it doesn't matter then Scion wasted a lot time making it look like it does at the auto show. They were the only booth..that i saw..actively surveying the crowd as to what they did and didn't like about their design study..they had four or five people with questionnaires asking people a lot of questions about the t2b..which door configuration they liked better..comments on the interior..comments on the glass roof etc...not saying they're going to listen to or even look at the results but that's a lot of work just for the fun of it....

You know, it has occured to me, that the drivers side door is NOT suicide. It just opens REAL wide, like a regular door, only more. A SUICIDE door opens from the FRONT to the REAR.

See, in the day, if you had to jump out of a speeding car, and the door opened front to rear, then you would not be able to jump out, thus causing you to commit suicide.

Now, I will say, that the driver side door opens REAL far. But not from the Front to the Rear.

That's true, but the rear door does open front to back -- making it a suicide door like those on classic Lincolns or the new Rolls.

One must remembeer that the reason Concept cars are even shown to the public is to show that there is a future in that particular manufacturer, and to get the publics oppinion since after all theyu are the ones who are going to be buying them.

This is a cncept car, they did every thing the way that they did to see what the public thinks and to see where they need to chang things to make it what the public wants befor it is even released. This desighn is not the final desighn if it was it would have been released as the Scion T2B new production Vehicle. But it was released as the Scion T2B concept, nad not a production. It'll be a couple of years before every thing gets all hammered out, and the care is finalised, but it did what it is suposed to do and got us all talking.

how hilarious would it be if they released the 2007 toyota supra as a scion.

HERE'S urbanracer.com's take on the t2b

The most striking characteristic about the t2B is the “Demado”-inspired reverse trapezoidal design. According to designer Jin Kim, who is based at Toyota’s CALTY design center in Southern California, the Demado concept (which means Bay Window in Japanese) lead to the upside down trapezoidal shape (wider at the top than at the bottom of the body).
If you like the dashboard light show, you’ll even like the digital “zipper” that circles the entire interior even more. It produces a continuous light show that circles the interior – yes, definitely polarizing and controversial (like Scion? We say build it, or some form of it.)

By the time this or something like it comes out, we will have all grown up a little more and as time goes on our collective needs will change. We will have families or bigger families and those that have developed a devotion for the Scion brand will need a vehicle to grow into, so as to stay with the brand.

I personally like this look very much It looks a little bigger yet still has a unique style. I wouldn't change the body a bit and expect the interior will be toned down if it ever makes it to production. I expect it will come stock with 17" wheels and the larger sizes will be available as options. If anything like this makes it to the showroom, Im a buyer. And I am not going to sell either of my boxes. I bought them for for life and will drive them until the platinum warranty wears off and then some! Then the kids get them and they can restore them!

The back looks a little BIG, but hey I like ****...

And the interior is a little much too with the 'ticker' thing... but IT IS a concept...
I'd be intrested in trading my box in for it. Maybe.

I'd bag it!

Lets see what they do...
