i don't know if somebody has already sayed this but it looks like a Honda Element. You know the way the doors open all the way there is no piller in the middle. i like the remote doors and suicide door but i though that mini vans had sliding doors what is that all about. i don't know i still like it and can not what till the real car (not concept) comes out so we know the final product.

Ps Even though my wife hates it says its a cross between a PT and a XB....NOT!
It is growing on me as well. Hell, what is so wrong with one light in the front? That is just the sort of thing that makes it stick out. And one thing is for sure, the xB line sticks out.

Maybe then, I'll get one. Right after I finish the trio, and have my tC next to the xA and xB.

Oh, and the wife is nuts on this. I don't think she can convince anyone.

ok so idk all i have to say is...interesting....very interesting....i mean wtf is toyota thinking? this car is so WEIRD looking! the interior is all spacey and ____...the lights are corny...i like the seats i guess, the doors that open opposite on the one side and the sliding mini van door are kinda cool but idk it def reminds me of the Element....which i HATE with the utmost passion. The ___ end of it is just bubbly and strange. I def wanna see a scion mini truck or something....f**k this crazy t2B crap, i mean maybe bring it back when the world goes Jetson's style with flying cars and ____ but now it's just not doing much for me.

and just when u thought Scion cant do better.. they sure promised a surprise, i dunno about u guyz, but i was pretty surprised. with this concept, i totally love the idea of a toss up between Will Cypha + bB + Porte.

the first look of it obviously slapz u on the forehead with the thought of a 2nd gen bB, as u come to your sensez and carefully speculate around the body it reminds u of the Will Cypha & Porte thatz currently selling over in Japan. it's got the similiar lines of a Will Cypha's body with a Porte's styling, or either way its pretty similiar to all 3.. i cant help but be hypnotized of the design. although im not fond of the idea of suicide doors and passenger sliding door.. IMO suicide doors is hotness only if its on a classical type car or a extremely luxurious car like a Bentley/Royce of that sort. for a "cool, edgy" factor car i dont think suicide is the way to go. and the whole sliding door idea, obviously they belong on a VAN! a family van none the less, i dont want that if i dont have a soccer team to haul! therez only 2 doorz on the concept, i hope they make it 4 on production, i love coupes but on a boxy/van/suv type of vehicle there should be 4.. it just feelz right, ya know? and again itz just me

itz all IN MY OPINION, i love the overall design and philosophy, but i just dont like the suicide & sliding doorz idea, i dunno, it might grow on me later on but at the moment im not too convinced that they are that cool.. but im pretty satisfied with it, i've been biting on my nailz & riping my hair out since the rumor of the concept and now im finally seeing it debut. it just made my day! cant wait to see what they'll come up with next, TOYOTA/SCION ROCKz

now i just gotta goto the auto show, i've alwayz wanted to go but no one i know wantz to go with me.. so i've yet to goto any, it killz me to know that a car show is in my area but im not able to go.. i hope itz not the same for me this year

^^^ my post above is from the other post about the t2b but it was locked for some reason.. but i will make a stand and say im not a fan of the doorz.. at all! sliding doorz belong on a van, suicide doorz arent that cool unless if its on a oldies/classical type car or a ultra luxurious Bentley/Rolls Royce, i was optimistic about the design of the rear before but now that i see it, itz not as good as it should seem, i mean unique is good, but that rear is pretty nasty, if they are going for the idea of the xB styling then i think they should stick to the fact that the body should be more like a "box".. i mean the rear of the xB is what made me fall in love with it in the first place.. [im a ___ type of guy ] its hypnotic! the wider top and narrow bottom idea isnt bad but itz not safe.. makez it seem like it'll be prone to easy roll over.. just think of a newborn baby with its head.. but i love the glass panel roof through out the entire cabin, i love it because itz stadium like, and i can a nice view of what is above.. the whole dash led strip idea and the lighting seemz too cheesy, if i want that i'd hit up a disco hall.. after all u gotta pay attention to driving than looking at those ridicuplous thingz.. we have enough idiotz on the road as there is and we dont want to become one of em.. i know its a concept vehicle so far, but scion takez the concept ideaz and actually make hem a reality! [note the bbx & ccx] i hope they dont actually think they would think these ideaz would be a big hit because the Y GEN isnt that gullable, but we'll see what happenz to the production model first..

Default some interesting ideas.. but not practical at all

I think this concept car is introducing some good new key fundamental ideas. It seems like in some areas at least Toyota is very much paying attention to what is going on out there.

My reaction to specific things I saw:
1) Headlight design - nice changes overall... but the foglight thing is dumb- needs to look balanced.

2) Doors- major problem here in introducing two completely different styles of doors... PICK ONE. It's just not practical to ahve 3 totally different dorrs to get into a vehicle. The sliding door is just stupid looking on a "cool car" because it reminds me of a minivan. The suicide doors.. on the other hand... with no b-pillar... are actually a nice touch.

3) The dash- too cheesy the way it is designed... HOWEVER- Toyota has got it right in terms of it beind extremely versatile and more digital... the LCD look is arguable, but the concept is right.

4) Big TV in it... since lots of people put them in anyways... why not make it an accessory or standard. I disagree with the rear window thing though.. that's just corny.

5) Bigger engine... DEFINITELY!! This has been my only complaint about the xB. While the engine is certainly sufficient.. we'd like a cool car with more power please.

t2B, as is, is a MAJOR disappointment.

The design seems to be pulled, make that lifted, from competitors as opposed to something original or even close to the spirit of the xB.

Ford's concept (SYN) seems to have been the basis for this abysmal design along with Pontiac's Aztec and some Honda Element thrown in.

The sliding passenger door on the right qualifies this as a mini-van, something I NEVER want to own or drive.

The only car in the Scion/ Toyota stable for me is the xB as the other models (xA = Matrix and tC = Hyundai Tiberon) are just not worth the ownership and depend far too much on victims of marketing. (a V6 Ford Mustang will blow the doors off the tc, even if supercharged, for the same $$).

I have never owned a Toyota (or Japanese auto) before and probably won't again after this xB.

The introduction of the Nissan Cube and if Ford finds the "*****" to release the SYN will pounce this t2B.

Someone here stated that it was as "ugly" as the Dodge Magnum, YOU WISH. I like the Dodge Magnum as well as the 300C from Chrysler and I'm looking forward to getting another Ford Mustang as my xB is the daily driver.

So, in closing, I dig my Scion xB, will do a few mods and enjoy its fun difference.

Default Vintage Hotroad t2B

Hello everyone, This is my first post here...

I saw the t2B concept at autoblog today, all I can say is wow.

Despite all the negative things people (Including many on this board) are saying about this car, I absolutely love it.

Why?

It’s clean, it’s chopped, the wheels are moved to the very front and back of the car, it’s low slung, the doors are fine (Although I don’t see why they couldn’t have a sliding driver’s door too [this could make getting out of your car in a crowed parking lot easier])

Am I the only one who looks at this and sees a modern version of a 1932 coupe? Look at it, the fender flares, it’s near perfection.

The exterior is perfect, I swear, I wouldn’t change a thing, I like the single light idea. I don’t like the interior, but heaven knows that wouldn’t be production.

If Toyota builds it, I’m buying one... If not, I’m buying a Nissan Cube when they hit the US.

The xA just wasn’t popping for me, and the TC looks like every other car on the road. The xB is great, but it has nothing on the t2B.

Let me tell you, I have a 1996 GEO tracker, it’s the perfect size, and the shape is nice, I’ve been driving it for a while, and had no interest in buying a another car untill that Tracker breaks, but this thing got my attention, and everyone I showed it to liked it, including the same people who I showed the xB two years ago and said it was the ugliest car they ever seen.

The car is smooth, it’s a box yes, but it is a well rounded sporty box. The hood is the right size for the rest of the car, the length is great, and the seating problem in the back could be fixed by moving the seats back into the cargo area (dua.)

So in conclusion, before you diss this thing, look at it again. Think about how nice this thing would look as a vintage hot rod?

It might look like this...

I'm not sure what you all are talkin about...i love this concept...i think it has pushed the idea of "edgy" car further out...i love this concept. its like the xB all grown up...i would totally get one if it came out...this is exactly what Scion should be doing...pushing the limits of car design...making people look once...look twice...and then look again...and see a different car every time you look...personally...its a hit...

come...dont you remember the ccx...that thing was...ummm...funky...but look what they made...tC...people talked smack about the xA and xB coming over...but they were wrong...

thats just my two cents...

Default concept

I like it, I was there, you really need to see it up close, the front is very aggressive (Ithink that's what I like the most about it)...I don't think any of us should get too worked up weather you like this or not...... remember this is a concept, a "exercise in design" as it was called. I doubt this would be the production model.... but I like it the the strips of **** carpet in the floor boards was neat.... like I said I dug it

Default Very Interesting

I definitely like the car, but they won't possibly be able to maintain the "entry level" idiom. No way I could afford the thing.

yeah...one of the design guys told me that the cocept was worth 1.5 million ..... if they put it in production I hoped it would be a bit cheaper than that

Keep in mind concept vehicles are one offs and therefore will be very costly to build.
Once a vehcile hits mass production the price in parts goes way down. I also think you will see a lot more of the cool tech stuff in the interior make it into the production car than you ever dreamed possible......

That being said....

Overall I love this car I think Scion has been listening to their owners in general and trying their best to give you what you want. What other car company listens as well ??

For all of you who don't love the interior looks I'm for the most part with you. The seating isn't horrible but there are WAY too many lights. Although I will definately give scion kudos for putting all the functionality into it. I love the idea of being able to dowload things , docking my ipod & having a projection on my rear window. It better than a big screen TV IMO becuase it doesnt take up as much space.

Overall I think the production car IF there is one
