So Cal let's hear your thought's on Scions iQ
Even though Troy's concept was unveiled at the N.Y. auto show it will probably look nothing like that when the hit Scion dealership parking lots. You'll probably see something that looks identical to this:

I heard the Toyota version gets around 56 MPG
Knowing us Americans and the auto industry they'll probably throw in a lil bigger engine to give it some more ponies which will bring down the mpg drastically.

The white one looks the best i grabbed that picture and it said that one is the one in europe right now, but if u look at the wheels the white one is a 5 lug and troy's is a 4? i wonder what scion plans on making the u.s. one with?
if scion wanted to steel the smart cars potential buyers they should produce is the the body panels like the white one with some flared out fenders to set itself apart from the smart car

I don't know,, I kinda dig it in an ugly duckling sort of way, I see a lil' xd in it. I like the play on the name IQ=Smart Car.
I would totally dig having one for driving around doing errands around town. I guess like my Xb, anything over an hour drive, gets a bit uncomfortable.

Not really a regional discussion. There are already a couple other threads on this in the News forum as well.

As for the mileage... that's apparently with the 1.0 L engine that europe has... don't expect the 1.3 or 1.4 whatever that we get to do the same.
Anyway, put this in All Other Vehicles b/c it's not really "news" and there isn't an official forum yet since it isn't officially a new model yet (still concept).

I'm pretty stoked over the iQ. I've followed it since the beginning and am surprised Toyota is nearly ready to deliver on the totally new 1.3.
Too small for safety? I drove a MG Midget for three years! No airbags, didn't use the seat belts, no safety engineering. That was dangerous.
The iQ isn't meant to be used wide open on the interstate.

small doesn't equate un safe. sure a 1967 caddy will hardly get damaged in an accident but they'll be hose'n your remains off the interior.
love the idea of a toyota small car to compete with the crappy smart car, but I'd wish the IQ looked better.
