I had an 03 gsx-r600 with a full header-back, filter, sprocket swap, steering dampener, blue windscreen, flush sidemarkers, etc etc....
but i sold it over thanksgiving :'(
someone offered me 7k for it, and i couldnt refuse. I *really* want to find a gixxer liter... but my search is finding nothing unfortunately.

bleh, busa's are only good for going straight. I want a liter so i can still turn
I really haven't been looking too hard... i'm looking for an 03-05 blue/white gsx-r1000 for under $9000. preferrably low miles and unmodded, but i'd settle for mild mods (i'd do em anyways!)

Scooter's are great depending on the area you live in. There's really too many 45mph streets here where people travel 60mph for me to really want or feel safe with a scooter. I've had a blast on them.
My buddy's got a 'busa and it's not a bad bike. I'll agree it's more straight-line or highway than corner carver though. Down here, there's more long boring straights than anything. Even still, I'll take my little 600... Perfect for my weight and enough to get me into trouble...

Yeah, Motorcycle Consumer News (March '04) tested my bike:
Top Spead: 136.2
1/4: 11.57 @ 115.51mph
0-60: 3.71
0-100: 8.64
All with a 160lb rider.
I weigh 145lb and have the front wind screed (as shown above) and got the bike up to 145mph twice . I think that says a lot for the stock aerodynamics of the bike. I guess it's one of those things you have to do as an owner, hitting top speed.
