It'll be priced around the Genesis area... figure a base model in the lower-mid 20s and a higher end in the upper 20s. That's my guess anyway.

 

im not to sure at this point what to think about the FT-86.
id love to have a new RWD Toyota sports car, even more so with a Scion badge.
not to hip on it being a hybrid or it having a Subbie engine or a 30k price tag

JDMJim's right. Wether hybrids make any sense to you or not, they're the next thing. Old hot rodders didn't understand why a kid would wrench on a 4 banger civic and now those modders don't understand why a kid would mod a hybrid. Hybrid supercars are on the horizon that are at the least just as fast as the current supercars.
Hybrid sports cars are coming. Not to mention pure electrics.

i just read a bit in a tuner mag about how the last Tokyo Auto Salon focused on hybrids and how they thought that was odd. thanks for the support tho

 

Hybrids suck! They arent the next thing in America! Not sure why people think this. Only way would be is if all we got is hybrids. Do you see people tuning there hybrids in the states? No.

All hybrids do is drive slow in the fast lane!!!!

Actually, here in Sacto CA I see Priuses fly by at 85-95 in the fast lane daily. *shrug* Not to mention there are a ton of them around. About 1 in 10 vehicles.
I'm going to miss the internal combustion engine myself. Engines sound great and are fun. But, hey, it's the past just like horses were once the means for transportation. There were a lot of people that said an automobile wasn't as good as a horse. Ya know what happened.
Electric motors can be just as much fun to mod and race. See the video above. Going to be fun to experience something new. It's life. Things change.

That guy has been working on that car for 16 years.

I love when people use that as an example. So in the last 16 years, 1 guy has managed to run 10s in the 1/4 mile with an electric car in the states. Come back when they're beating the R15 TDI in Le Mans. I won't wait for you, because you won't come back. They wouldn't even be able to complete 1 lap, the batteries will run out .
