tCtCtC's CIVIC!
*you're
yes, i am. i shouldnt have switched from the last set I had. BUT, i just snagged a set of OEM headlights for $50 shipped, so im hoping that they really are oem. and im gonna hold on to the tycs this time, just incase my inner ricer comes out again.

but seriously, yeah the tyc's look nice. I think they're probably brighter than stock, since they're so clear! I've seen a lot of the older civics get yellow in the headlight lenses. Some of them even after the application of the "3M headlight restore kit" still have haze. So hopefully that set is nice and clear for ya.
I bought the OEM headlights, and I'm holding on to the TYC's just in case I decide to go back. Wheels are next after this. After that, I'm getting the bondo fixed on the dent. As psycho crazy as this sounds, I want to keep the dent, but I don't want the chipping bondo.
Looks good. But about the HX i heard they are quicker than the EX cause of there 2nd gear. But I had a friend back in HS who had one and a friend with an EX and they said the HX would pull him granted not by much but it did cause of the taller gear.
The HX doesn't have more power than the EX, but it does have the really long gears like you said. 2nd goes all the way to about 62, and vtec-e engages earlier than regular vtec.
The gears are tall, you can take 3rd gear all the way to redline! No kidding that's how tall they are!
When i had one i could downshift from 5th to 3rd on the highway if i needed power to accelerate. Most of the time it was 5th to 4th.most of the newer engines incorporated the vtec-e engine's ideas, this is why the HX is gone from the lineup. And why the fuel economy of the civics are more like the HX's fuel economy.
just sharing what i remember about that car. kinda rare of a car and I like that.
oh one more thing is that the HX has an EGR valve, that can clog up with carbon. That egr plate is a mess, and it's cheaper to replace it than trying to clean it. random thought, i know

In 2000, the EX was 0-60 in 8.5 seconds, so Honda obviously did some tuning from 96 to the 2000 model year.
so for your friend back in high school, if it was before 2000 EX they're talking about, then ya the HX was quicker.
Mich, I get what you're saying haha. I knew all that, but it's nice having it reconfirmed lol.
Bird, I still have to get them redrilled. I'm debating if I want to do my sub first, or do the rims. But don't forget the rim project is redrill, fix the bend, all new tires, and lugs.
