Im just posting this to clarify the 50 dollar mix-up with a few people>>>>and no there is nothing wrong with a bird dog or reffering someone.

Scion Life Dealer Referral Program

Dealership:

To participate in the Dealer Referral program you must simply fax this completed form to Scion Life with your dealership's general managers signature. As soon as your form is received the page for your dealership will display the Scion Life Supported coupon which can be printed by referred customers. Please allow up to 48 hours for your page to be updated, although it rarely takes that long.

The simple process:
Scion life refers a customer to your dealership. That customer buys a new Scion and at least $200 of accessories. Your dealership sends $100 to Scion Life. Scion Life sends $50.00 back to the customer.

The details:
When a customer uses Scion Life to research a dealership they will print and display a rebate coupon that shows that they located your dealership through Scion Life. Once they have purchased at least $200.00 of accessories along with their new Scion then you will sign-off on their rebate coupon. The customer will mail/fax their rebate form, along with proof of vehicle and accessory purchase, to Scion Life. Scion Life will send notification to the dealership that the rebate has been received and the dealership will have thirty days send payment to Scion Life in the amount of $100.00. As soon as payment is received from the dealership the customer will be mailed a $50.00 rebate along with a thank you from Scion Life and your dealership.

Why bother?
1. First of all, you know that most Toyota dealerships have chosen to also become Scion dealers. This leaves the customer with MANY choices. This program will help get customers into your showroom and will cost you absolutely nothing unless they buy a vehicle and accessories and complete the paperwork.

2. We know that accessorization is a key part of the Scion business model, and this program provides encouragement for consumers to include accessories in their new vehicle purchase..

3. A stronger relationship with your customer will be created when they receive a thank you card in the mail about eight weeks after their purchase. Enclosed in this card will be their fifty dollar check. The thank you card will be sent from Scion Life with our name and your dealership's name on the card.

4. You will be supporting Scion Life. One of the most important factors in the market is having solid support for the product that you sell. Scion Life is free for all to use and by participating in this program you will help to build a solid peer support program, which will only help to sell more cars down the road.

So what if you heard it from ScionLife? My point was that you can punch in any letters and it will give you the same page the link you posted did.

ScionLife.com offers a coupon. Coupons are totally againt pure pricing.

Follow the link, print it out and ask your Scion regional manager if it's compliant
https://www.scionlife.com/dealers/signup.php?dealer=276

My Scion rep brought this up at a National meeting, and the feed back she gets is that coupons of any kind toward the PURCHASE of a vehicle or against the Scion rules.
You're dead wrong buddy. The process by which the customer actually gets the $50 ScionLife Rebate does NOT violate the covenant in any way. As a dealership, we can solicit leads from any number of 3rd-party sources. With the $50 Rebate Coupons, the dealership is essentially paying ScionLife for a guaranteed-sale lead. The fact that ScionLife kindly splits it's per-lead fee with the customer is of no consequence to the dealership. The rebate is paid to the customer directly by ScionLife drawn on ScionLife funds. The covenant is well out of the loop at that point.

BTW, the next Scion should come from the Toyota-Euro Design house, not Japan, not CALTY or whatever they are called after they moved to MI.

It would be nice to dream...

i wouldn't see why they wouldn't pull off selling a 300 hp car...
the hardest part would be to keep the costs down and quality up...
all they have to do is see who is making payments on their current scion... and set them up for financing for the beast when they release it... maybe in 07 or 08 =D

but i still think scion should release a turbo/fast box... that runs low 14's =D

So isn't dL inconsistent with Scion's naming pattern (xA, xB, tC...) if anything wouldn't it be the lD?

Please remember to keep things on-topic guys... this thread is all over the place!

The Scion dL is a rumor that landed at my feet via a reasonably reliable source. This is the same way that the tC was discovered and almost everything that was reported ended up being correct. I'm not forcing anyone to believe it, but I am trying to encourage discussion about the possible fourth model.

For the record I don't prohibit the use of Scion-Life-branded images on other sites. In fact, go right ahead and use them because it advertises Scion Life! If you remove the Scion Life branding then you will be in trouble!

The $50 rebate is NOT against the Scion covenant. The rebate is designed to encourage the purchase of accessories along with the vehicle. Since Scion Life is a third-party business and not affiliated with any dealership group we can do anything that we like. Each dealer can choose to participate or not. Many have.

As for naming consistency.... the tC is inconsistent! It SHOULD be the xC. What happens if Scion makes 27 cars anyway? They would run out of letters. Sooner or later the naming would have to change anyway. Plus, the xA and xB are built on the same platform, while the tC is not - hence the name change. Why would they not be allowed to make up new names along the way?

Remember that Scion is around for one primary reason: to earn younger customers to the Toyota brand. A $30,000+ high-insurance vehicle would not do this, so it doesn't seem likely. I would buy one, though.

And lastly, the link that was on the dL page was a mistake on my part. It has been removed.

Darren, I back this 100%. I know that you have good sources and even if this turns out false, it is a good source for discussion
