On a turbo search....
I am looking to tap the collective testosterone and greasy split knuckles of this site to help me decide what my next whip should be.
I'm not replacing my 05 xB, it will remain the family mpg-mobile, and my 06 Pilot stays as well. I'm looking for something fun, something with an oem turbo system.
I used to have a civic as my fun car, then an integra gs-r, so you get the idea of where I'm looking. I've been eyeing an older (2002ish) golf gti but just want to hear a general yelling out of cars you would buy...
Requirements:
factory turbo
2door or 4door
mpg better than a pilot
under 10g (way under = more $$ for play/mods)
so...what ya got?!

^^^ pretty much why I want to go with an older model turbo, you have an idea of the faults of the platform before you jump on a new release... aaand it is just cheaper to have an OEM turbo system, then upgrade it, instead of adding a turbo system to a N/A platform.
Sadly it keeps looking like my best bet would be to rock a Mk4 and just add an intake and chip the sucker. but that is so boring...

^^Thats what I thought too. But his ran fine only thing that was bad about it was that it was leaking a couple drops of oil but he got that fixed. He put 50k miles on it and traded it in with over 120k miles. He didn't get much for it but he had his fun with it.

Guy I worked with many years ago had an SRT-4, and after re-joining the same company I thought he had the same one. This is his 3rd, he keeps breaking them, so that is one I may very well avoid.
Plus we always gave him hell about driving a Neon. Even put a 14" sticker on the windshield that said "Hi" and he about broke someone's face.

See, this is why I'm glad I posted here, some things I totally did not think about. Audi S4, the B5's are just beasts. Leather & Woodgrain? Damn. I'm almost sold on one right now.
Need to do some research on the downsides of those S4's but good grief....
