It's just funny - the vid reminded me of one of those ads. Click on the image and then click on "Better Results".

Ehhh

My old 240sx with an non-functioning steering rack can do better donuts and pull more smoke than that.

Definitely need a ton of practice before you start saying you drift.

I'm sorry, did I miss something here? Where do you see "I can Drift" in any part of this thread or in the video, coming out of my mouth? Gotta love the haters.

Oh..WAIT, you are one of those guys who drifted right out of the birth canal. Look ladies and gentelmen, a real live BORN Drift King, we should all be thankful that he graced us with his presence...

PS....You showed me a video that contained NO drifting what so ever. At least I had some minor drifting going on. Thanks for waisting my time. If my goal was to sit there and go round and round in a circle, then I would have done that the whole vid (such as yours), but that was not my goal.

Hit me up, cause I'm going to go pick up some used tires from this one shop in Smyrna. Then I just need a quiet spot for practice.

Don't mean to start anything but you did say this:

For sure, I'm working on it. I just started practicing "Clutch Kicking" it into 2nd gear to make the tail break out. I can hold a short drift that way.

Whoooah now... Work on those transitions man lol... nice burnout at least

Thanks. Yeah, those dreaded "Snap-backs" are kicking my ****...

BTW, there's a difference between a drift and a power slide.

I was around the drift scene before people even knew what it was... and coming from another forum I used to frequent, people who say or use the word drift when they really don't know how get frowned upon. I know I'm new to this forum and I'm not trying to be a troll but all I'm saying is drifting takes plenty of practice.

Edit: Since you edited your post while I was typing a reply, let me just clarify that I only said my old car could pull more smoke and do better donuts with a non functioning steering rack. Bad steering rack bushing and mount = no countersteer

I know the difference between a drift and a power slide. During a drift, you are modulating the throttle, which in turn keeps the wheels rotating under FORCE. The video posted can not reflect that, because it's to dark. I was applying the gas while sideways carrying me (although a very short distance, as I have only just begun) into a drift. When you see me rotate, it was due to applying To MUCH throttle, therefore sending the end all the way around, NOT because I was turning the steering wheel. THAT is why I spun out. I'm a noob, but not THAT much of a noob to not even know what a Drift or Drifting is when I see it or do it.

I have not had practice time yet at a drift event where there are people there to help and give pointers. But I am making the steps to increase my skill level.

What comes to mind also when it comes to smoke from the tires....The amount of smoke generating from the tires is a reflection upon a number of factors.

- what kind of tire it is
- what brand
- the compounds used to make the tire
- size

etc... Those are stock tires on the Z. The rear tires measure in at 245/45/18 (very wide, and somewhat harder to drift on). Smaller wheels + not so wide tires brings down the difficulty level a bit. My new tires are going to be 235/45/18's. But I'm looking for some cheap 17inch wheels for the rear while I'm learning, as 17inch tires are cheaper than 18in ones...

LOL

I didn't know size matters. Well just for reference, my 240sx had 15x7 0 offset Konig Rewinds with stock size 205/60/15 Kuhmo tires.

The car had 173whp 168ft/lbs N/A KA24DE and a welded diff.

Anyhow, check out these forums if you're serious about drifting:

Yep, been to Club4ag also... Yeah, smaller tires help with ease of drift. I was at a drift event not to long ago, and a guy from SEDA had a white 350Z. He was running 17's in the back, and had commented that he had larger tires on the back before, but it made it harder to drift with. Check out the video footage I got of his drifting, including a shotgun ride with him to get some pointers (that's where I got the "clutch-kicking" tip from)...

He has been drifting for about a year.

No offense tC4italy, but that was another display of donughts and smoke. I'm trying to learn the art of car control...i.e. Drifting.

THIS is what I am trying to learn...Drifting....
