Default 2008 AutoX - 5 Events Down - Summary

So after 5 events... I'm still winning STS and I've had more competition this year than last year (thankfully). Though the poor guy keeps getting beat pretty badly. He's getting better though and I'm sure he's having fun anyway.

This past weekend we had our first ever two day event with the CNY region at the Seneca Army Depot. We had two courses (one at each end of the runway) and were split into two groups - one for each course. Then split into two run groups at each course. We ran the groups on one of the courses in the morning and then swapped for the afternoon. Then the second day the courses were reversed and slightly modified and we did the same thing. So we essentially ran 4 courses in 2 days for a total of 18 runs. It was actually a lot of fun.

I got my ___ handed to me on day 1. It was a combination of me just having a crappy day and one of the courses being a little damp and racing against a Subaru on that dampness. I did better on the other course in the afternoon - but only second place there and 3rd of 3 overall for the day.

Day 2 was a different story. I won the first course by about 2 tenths and then killed the second course and had that by over a second. Won 1st out of 4 for day two overall. That made up for the first day.

I'm going to be ordering some Axxis Deluxe pads soon as well as flushing my trans fluid for some Redline MT90. Oh ya... called the local autozone for the Redline fluid and he was like "Redline...? Never heard of it... we don't have it." So I ordered from Summit Racing online. There is probably cheaper somewhere else but I didn't want to look all day for it.

I've also been having issues with my new video camera and the CruiseCam mount.... I get a TON of vibration when racing. It's really just my seat and headrest shaking. It has been driving me nuts... but I think I finally found a solution (that I'll have to try at the next event). I read somewhere to just run a bungee from the headrest posts to the child seat anchors in the back. That should hold it steady. Genius, IMO, if it works.

In any case... here are some videos from this weekend:

Even at 140mph this bad boy will not vibrate. I love it.

Nice runs by the way. Seemed like a good high speed course.

Ya, I've heard good things about that one too. If the bungee idea doesn't work I'll be looking into other solutions and that may be one of them. Thanks!

And yes, most of the weekend was pretty fast... though the North course on Sunday was exceptionally so. Good times.
