Wow, that staging line looks a bit close to the racing action in a few of those shots. I'm sure there weren't any problems, but damn.

So what class and how did you do?

Yea, I was a little worried when I showed up. But no problems.

This wasn't an SCCA event. But when I do run them I am in STS.

Non-SCCA? Is it just a locally organized type of thing then?

That's cool though that you have a local club outside of SCCA. Events around here are only every couple of weeks - so that would make a good filler for the inbetween weeks.

I feel lucky enough that there's an SCCA region here at all.

Yea, I am in between the Philly and DC SCCA regions, so that is nice. And with all the local clubs in the area we can autocross every weekend!

I think it does pretty well. I don't know how much exhaust work is going to do you in an autocross, but you might sounds nice? I saw you post around the site, and pretty much what everyone else is saying holds true. I think some simple suspension work can go a long way with this car. And the stock tires need to go as soon as possible (although mine haven't yet...)

I would say the times are based largely on the driver. At one event I was at the slowest time of the day was a 2007 Porsche 911 S, and on the other hand I have been beaten by Civics. But with some component skills the car can do quite well.

Since the SCCA puts us in H-Stock class we should have no excuse but to do well...

x2 on your comment about the upgrades. But I'm finally trying out something other than stock tires this weekend, we'll see what happens...

Well I used to run HS, now with my springs I am in STS, but not in the STSL, I tried but they wouldn't let me in .

You probably haven't seen one in HS b/c most people that would autox have done something to their cars at that point... I mean even a strut bar would put you into STS, so that's where everyone ends up. Though I think s/c or turbo would put you into SM.

I can't wait to run again this weekend. I'm hoping to get some more videos and have a few friends take some pics. Should be a good time.

Hey, I didn't say everyone...

It's probably better to start there anyways so you get a good feel for the car and get used to autox before you start jumping into a more competitive class (which STS certainly is... anywhere you go).

My first event was in GS b/c the tC wasn't officially in the rules yet or no one knew where it would be. I still did OK but had springs after that so only the one event was as "stock."

I hear that... the springs were my first real mod and I actually won them in a contest here on SL. I made a bad ___ crossword puzzle. So I got lucky even though I was broke.

springs...and a rear sway bar...depending though... if youre a front wheel drive car...you definitely want to stiffen up the rear.... if your a rear wheel...i believe its the other way around...but see i dont own a rear wheel drive car just quite yet...

but ummm after springs and rear sway bar...then come the tires...and thats all you really need to be honest...thats all ive got, but no tires yet...and im keeping up with the average... ppl are surprised at stocky cars..whoopin everyones butt out there! rear sway bar on the tc is one of the best things you can purchase....it makes a HUGE difference...doesnt eliminate the roll completely but better than stock!

really at autox its not so much the car...its the driver! most people that run their first time...or dont get the concept right away... automatically blame the car for their loss...or even ppl that run everytime but keep losing blame the car...but really it all depends on the driver and their technique... you can have just a stock car and do real well...you as the driver got to learn how to compensate for what you got! you can use what most would consider a disadvantage (such as understeer), to your advantage! theres usually a way around it....

autox is a great way to learn how to drive your car better...learn what your can and cant do in certain situations....and its just fun... there are some ppl that take it hard core seriously...and if they lose its like the end of the world...but for the most of us... we're there to have fun! i do compete for points in the Las Vegas Region SCCA....but im not butt hurt if i dont get a trophy at the end of the year..i learned lots...and had tons of fun! theres always next year!

couldnt have set it better my self, there are some times where car limitations play factors but thats if ur driving is already getting u the best time possible, for our cars those would be events like fuel cut off and or tires.
