No, I'd say that's correct. If a person is ever going to fully mature, it'll happen by the time they're 40. The problem is, some people never grow up.

 

I'm not knocking you for trying to run them, I race on the streets also. And Iam willing to bet that EVERYBODY that has responded to this thread has done some street racing!! Anyways my only negative comment is I cant beleive you did the RICER FLYBY!! now thats sad..... other than that they probably wouldve whooped up on you, and they didnt want to waiste their gas

well im not gonna bash on anybody except the srt-4. i really dislike those cars alot, cause i was really really close to buying one, but couldnt get it cause my insurance. im very glad i didnt because i know 3 people that have claimed "lemon law" on the cars. The LSD system is crap. You get constant tickets for the exhaust and dodge wont pay them. And to top it all off the head gaskets blow at around 50,000 miles with no mods. they'll blow quicker if you up the boost. Cause the cars were only meant to be running about 2 psi and out of the factory they came with 6, This kid i know boosted it up to 18 and blew the gaskets, its ok cause he has money. But all in all i think the srt-4 was a very poorly made car, and thats why im glad i got my tc. but dont get me wrong, they are quick as hell. a tc can be just as quick though.

 

Too old? I've seen several posts about the 'older guy' in corvette, M3, Merc.. ect. playing around. I've even been revved at by a middle aged dude in a Mustang. I think that means AGE has nothing to do with it. And besides, can you honestly say you've NEVER street raced? I know I have....Just don't tell anyone.

 

yeah try telling you cant drive fast to Carol Shelby, heck half the pro drivers are over 40... Lets see you say something to them about being "OLD".... Anyone who says a 40+yr old driver cant drive fast is STOOOPID!!!

 

Didn't you guys pick up on the implied context of his statement? Apparently not. He was only talking about street racing, not professional or track racing. And he's right, a mature 41yr old wouldn't behave that way on the street, even if they could easily beat you at the track.

I wonder what you'd have replied with if he'd spelled it out explicitly, "Arent you too old to be street racing people?"
