yup ....had to stop short b/c someone in front of me stopped short..and my friend drivin behind me in a SRT4 couldnt stop in time .....BAM he only hit me doin 15-20 but it felt like a lot more.....the entire rear of the car was smashed in and the SRT only cracked the front bumper a lil bit and scuffed the hood..and maybe radiator support..oh.. and the headlight bracket you can barely tell it was hit....you know what they say if you can't Dodge it... RAM it!!!!! lol ......bastard....soooo.... insurance should total it and...probably lookin at a new tC or im gonna take the money and run...maybe a Z maybe a WRX...or maybe another ol' '89-'91 240SX not sure yet....anyways yea.. f*ckin sux.. ill get pics up soon...

sorry, but I can't see the rear of the car getting damaged means a totaled vehicle... and if your car is totaled, you're going to lose THOUSANDS of dollars.... unless you have GAP insurance, and even then you need to pay tax, tag, title and licensing fees on your next car etc etc

a 2800lb dodge neon hitting the back of your car at less then 20mph and TOTALING your vehicle? I sure hope not, or what would that say about the safety of our cars? what if it was a 5000lb SUV doing 50?

I really can't see the ENTIRE back end of the car costing more than $10,000 even if you cut off the back end at the hatchback glass and had to replace EVERYTHING, including labor, paint, repair, replace and replacement parts... there's nothing back there but the exhaust, gas tank (uh-oh) trunk and rear suspension....

You are definatly correct Otocan, when you stated the above but please realize that parts for the Tc are freaking uber expensive, trust me I know. I had some front end damage due to low speed and some gravel and wound up doing over 7K in damage. I was very surprised because the 3 estimates I was given only said that it would have been at most 3k, including labor. I wouldn't be surprised if his/her insurance company decided to take the easy way out and just pay out.

Def. would get another one...unless it was somehow the tC's fault. And in your case, it isn't. ;)

Depends on how bad the accident. It might make you nervous being in the same kind of car again. I think I would get another tC or Mazda 3 maybe.

if that was me, I'd sue the ex-friend and buy and audi S4. and maybe spend the extra $$ on some driving lessons for my friend so he wouldn't hate me.

Under what pretense would you sue?
