It's too top-heavy, and the beam axle doesn't help.
There's a guy here in Chicago Region SCCA who is competitive in an xB1, but he isn't going to win. He knows that, but still drives the wheels off that car.

He was one of my two Scion-driving students in autocross class this past spring, and an outstanding driver.

I also used to compete in an xA. It was smaller, and lower, I tried for three years, but couldn't win in it either. I had a couple victories when he wasn't there but couldn't take the year-end over a Subaru Impreza 2.5 RS. I came close, 0.8 point.

However, I did win in a tC this year...

Yeah, the minivan (aka trailing arm/beam) suspension is a huge barrier for many cars.
