Default MMMM the smell of victory......

ill start off with saying i KNOW most if not all wont believe me on this, but i was out on blossom hill tonight with my roommate going to albertson's to get some food. i saw a lotus elise dark silver with gloss black wheels and a black spoiler. it lookd nice from behind but i hate them from the front...just not styled right IMO. anyway, i was saying to my roommate " he would probably take me but lets have some fun..." so we got stopped at the same red light and i just gave him a slight rev....the light turned green and we both went through first gear nice and easy, then second came for both of us and he felt that i was pushin him to go for it... he did, and i did....thats when all vvtl-i and vvti hell broke loose....
heard his crossover engage and we were equal through the rest of second, then third i slamed it almost the same time he did, just a fraction of a second before... third gear i just pulled.. and i was like WTF just happened.. thought it was a fluke.. next redlight same situation (we didnt want to light up the tires to cause unwanted attention) but same thing second equal then i shifted to third then so did he... pulled on him again....so we went one more time this time were by snell (ok i forgot 90% of you dont live near me) but anyway.. same thing....it was very consistant, we both chirpped second and third...at the end of third we both let off... im just amazed... i dont know if i ever posted up a thread with my mods, but i will soon sometime and a step by step with what i did in tuning and everything else.... believe it or not, i beat a lotus..
im sure if it was straight off the line it probably would have been different seeing they have a 4.8 0-60 stock and ours is completly double at 8.8. BUT it was at about a 40MPH roll on... on me

*edit* im N/A

not what a elise was designed for, anything else but straight would of been a way different story.

Must be great driving on your part!

Pretty nice kill. Even though they shine on the track they're still quick cars!

if xrs corollas can beat us (and yes i've seen many videos of this) i think a lotus can. he obviously wasn't pushing the car if both of you were shifting at the same time, that car has like an 8000 rpm redline. i beat a zo6 with mods in my corolla s with i/h/e.

yea i really dont think they guy was pushing it...those things can do 0-60 in 4.9/4.7(depending if it was sports trac). i think the 1/4 in low 13s. So doubt he was pushing it hard.

i see a few elises here and there on the road... but most of i do see are either auto-xing or on the track. i would say the majority that buy them use them what they're for.

the place i buy my redline stuff.. is a race shop.. the owner has a lotus.

6200 rpm to 8000 rpm is not a fraction of a second. how can you question my intelligence when you think you can keep up with a car that has more power, weighs less, and has better gearing? sorry i'm so stupid!!

I call BS.

Unless of course it was being driven by a 300lbs. man with a 250lbs. wife in the passenger seat. Even then I'd call BS because they couldn't fit into the car.

The tC does better then a 8.8 0-60 stock, I've seen 7.5-7.4's in a few magazines..

Still it would get killed by an elise. Supercharged or NA. 75% of the turboed tC on this board would even get beat, especially from a stop.

update your profile if we're all so ignorant of your glorious modifcations. i have read your profile and you are nowhere near the quickness of an elise. post what f/i you went with. sorry if i said anything stoopid great one.

You sure it was an elise and not a Solstice, Sky, or MX-5?
