Default My tC is faster than a Corvette and a Viper!

So is yours!! According to Car and Driver The top gear acceleration in a Corvette from 30-50 is 10.2 seconds the Viper does it in 10.3 and the tC does it in 8.5 Seconds! The top gear acceleration in a Corvette from 50-70 is 9.8 seconds in a Viper 9.7 seconds and in a tC 9.0 seconds! If you would ever be stupid enough to race a viper or a corvette hopefully they would mess up and upshift too early

Learn to use punctuation marks. I don't think those numbers are as important as their 0-60 times, but it's cool to know!

Hey thanks for the advice. In real world driving rolling acceleration is used way more. Just think you are the highway going 60 and the new driver of the viper next to you doesn't want you to pass him and doesn't think to downshift when you try to pass him. You might have a slight chance of getting by him.

This is because those speeds are insanely slow for a car of that caliber in top gear. They should be 80+ in top gear, not 30-50.

Very good, I agree. But you have to admit it's interesting though.

they do some of those tests by just putting the car in the highest or second to highest gear and flooring it, so I'm not all that suprised, especially if they kept the tC in third gear.

THIS is why we get so many "I smoked a (fill in the blank) with my TC" because they consider "smoking" a car when they pull for the first 5 seconds...

I pulled up on a viper and told the driver lets see what u got, he told me to go first. I took off and got about 15 cars head of him then he took off and just blew by me like a bat at off hell!!! Best of all he didn't get the car out of third gear.

So am I to understand that they tested this 30-50mph in 5th gear or do they drop it to 3rd from 5th? What type of real-world application does this have? Sounds like a pretty pointless stat to me.

i've been in a viper and i dont think ive ever experienced acceleration like that in my life, it is absolutlely amazing and i dont care how much these numbers can appear confusing, but like everyone else said the viper would ____ on the tC...

i'm getting one as my next car even if it takes 7-10 years!
