Default raced a 2003 rsx-s

Well i was on my way home from a meet tonight and this dude in a type s pulls up on me and starts to rev.

If you guys have been paying attention to recent posts I have been wanting to race the new civic si.

Well we came up to a light(NORMALLY I NEVER STREET RACE, BUT IT WAS A QUIET STREET AND LATE AT NIGHT) and when the light turns green i launch at about 2500 rpms, get the lead on him and were just keeping up with each other, till about the end of 3rd for me he starts to pull away slowly. We raced about 4 times on the street and each time it was the same outcome, so I pull into a parking lot to go to a store for my mom and he follows, gets out and asks if I had turbo on my car, I was like NOPE, lol, and told him what I had.
He was bone stock, and was a decent driver IMO, but i never thought that my car would keep up so well with him.

Oh and one more thing, GOD I LOVE THE SOUND OF V-TEC KICKING IN

I did the same thing with less. I had this on vid a looooonnnnggg time ago. Hence the reason why I wasn't to impressed with a 20k dollar 6speed tranny 198hp car vs our 16k 5spd 160hp car.

Edit....It was an 06 Civic Si that I raced. Not an RSX, which they are pretty close anyway though..

Every time we went from a Dig, he couldn't catch me till 75-80mph. All we had on the tC was a ZPI exhaust. And his 06 Si was stock. tC traps around 88mph in the 1/4 mile. At around 88mph, I would say he was about a car in front of us.

rsx-s is 210 hp, only about 10hp diff, but it helps, I would say around quarter mile 90mph he was about 1/2 car length in front of me. not to bad

i think people didnt post because you said you love the sound of vtec kickin in.

thats probally why, most people who dont own honda are extreme haters of honda.

(i dont own honda, and yes no one in the world hates civics more than I. Period.)

it feels good to keep up with more expensive cars I also know for a fact you would have won if our engines redlined at 9, like the SI.

Imagine a 9 grand tC motor. that would be like... 210 HP with 195 TQ, bone stock!

but you know toyota, if they made it 9g, it would probally be alot more than my guess!

actually... a tc that redlined at 9k would be alot slower than stock. tC makes no power after it's peak around 5500. the more you go, the less power you make.

no actually if our cars got to 9k with the way the compression is right now we would lose even more, if you have ever looked at a dyno chart for the tc, power starts to drop at about 5800 rpms, but hondas/acuras have a never ending power band.

imo i dont care if people hate hondas, i dont hate them dont love them, have a couple of friends with civics, and one with an integra that would smoke almost anything i can put up against it from this site,

I dont hate on other cars, i appreciate all the time and effort put into making each and every car in this world

if the engine was designed to run 9k, i think toyota would address that problem.

(wow internet text always seems like smart ___ remarks or comments huh? no smart ___ tone intended.)

if the engine was designed to run at 9k then the compression would be higher, and then turbos wouldnt be such a good idea on our car

ya but if you want to make power at 9k rpms you need higher compression pistons, so if you go turbo and change to lower compression pistons would you still be making power at 9k or not worth it, thing is vtec is the reason they can keep going till 9k heck i even saw a 14k civic with a spoon engine, craziest little rice rocket

thats only because the mass production of engine now are old technology.

(ugh cant find the link, but some company offers total engine reubild with revolutionary technology that gets 17:1 compression ratio on pump gas and makes insane amounts of power, with NO damage to engine, whatsoever. I will keep searhcing for the link...)

internal combustion engines are of the 1900's. we need to advance to better designs.
