Default Racing + Bad Shifting = Losing

Ok well i just broke in my 07' tC at 1200 miles. and i raced my friend in his Auto RSX on a 20 mph roll and he was pulling on me. Everytime i shifted into a higher gear the car felt like it jerked and slowed down. it just didn't feel right. But if i race it and do slower shifting the car throws me back into my seat and goes faster. iono i was just wondering if anyone else has the same problem. Post back.

What rpms are you shifting at? If you shift too early you might be missing the powerband. Or it could be that you're letting the clutch out too quick causing it too jerk.

shift just before redline and you just have to learn the clutch.

Yeah. I let out the clutch real fast. Iono im not use to this clutch. Its soooo soft. Im shifting at like 6200 rpm. I think its the way i let the clutch go because if i do it slower then it like throws me back into my seat. I know i can beat him on a roll. I kill him on a launch like no other.

Clutch wear would be considered normal wear and tear but it shouldn't be even close to worn at 1200 miles, If you're shifting relatively slowly then you let the clutch out fast it will jerk because the rpms have to bounce back up.

Racing to 60mph is still racing on the street. Take it to the track as your adreneline will take it past 60 one day.

It your shifting AT 6200 it sounds like you might be hitting the rev-limiter which would slow you up. Start your shift at say 600 and by the time you actually hit the clutch you will be at 6200.

You should kill an auto RSX with a 5speed tC, slow shifting or not.

You mean that auto-manual slapstick deally? Thats worthless, I would be suprised that at that price it has a true manual thats automatically controlled.

It's still automatic, it still has a torque converter.. And it's still slow.
