Default Top End Performance

How do people feel about their TC holding their own on the top end?

I have had my share of embarassments from a dead stop(that will change with our custom nitrous kit coming soon) but recently I stayed with a Mustang GT and went by a 6 cylinder Camaro with ease at high speeds (100-120).

Now I am not sure how much the Mustang was trying but he couldn't pull from me at all and at high speeds I think he was trying and not just cruising along. The Camaro had his foot in it as carbon was bellowing out his exhaust consistantly.

Now I never bought this car for it's power performance or lack there of but I had a little pride considering I have no engine performance mods yet and just cosmetic with handling parts.

How big is the bottle? What do you do when you run out of juice? Do you warm up the bottle before racing? Remote bottle opener? Remote bottle warmer?

i've taken my tc to the speed limiter a few times, since 5th gear is pretty short, it still has good acceleration at the top end. i seem to go from 80 to 90 and 100+ mph so easily when i want to get by some cars.

The system will comprise of twin 5lb bottles that replace the spare tire. I am designing a custom bottle bracket to lie in like the spare tire and be held in be the spare tiire nut.

I don't run out of nitrous since I have plenty of surplus on site.

My bottle heaters activate via the 12V ignition to keep my system at optimal pressure whenever I am in the car.

I don't use bottle openers as my solenoids won't leak. My bottles stay open 24/7 unless it's winter and I don't use nitrous.

Your comment was pretty much what I was curious about and if anyone else experienced the same thing. The TC is no speed demon but the car seems pretty decent on the top end for what it is.

Well, I actually didn't do a fly by. I was side by side or right behind both cars and we laid into it at around 50-60 I suppose and the results were what I posted above.

I haven't decided yet. This is just my economy daily driver and I am not sure if I want to spend thousands on an LSD and trans work to handle a big dose of nitrous.

I have learned not to go too crazy otherwise I mine as well just invest the money in a car that is much faster in stock trim and then spray that mildly without needing any additonal work.

tuning a car is like reading a book, you have to go page by page, chapter by chapter, if you just toss a bottle in a tc and call it a day, your going to ruin just about everything, i don't think any factory car is built to handle n2o except for the saleen n2o focus...whose warrenty is immediately voided upon evidence that the nitrous system has been used...lol. take your time and built up the parts you need before you serious nos it up. difference between thousands and tens of thousands.

Well I don't just toss nitrous in a car. I kinda have a good idea what I am doing. LOL www.racetested.com

Ruin everything , not really. That's why you take baby steps on upping the power and learn how to feel what your car likes.
