oh yeah we've got quite a few trucks out here in vegas that run at the local autox's

good job on the race...that was pretty freaking awesome! i have yet to run out here at SMMR in pahrump with Speedventures possibly next year, will be my first time out as well. Gotta get a beater miata before i go out in the tc, atleast ill have something to drive around in the meantime if anything happens to the tc. why get a beater miata and not run it? i do wanna run the tc on a track just to see what i can do with it.

btw, what tires were you running out there?

good luck at willow springs...at least if you eat it, its just dirt. unlike out here, it's rocks that you'll be eating....

Thanks, I ran with speed ventures that day, great instructors BTW, on Dec, 2nd I'm running with speed trial usa and hopefully my next time I will run nasa, my tires aren't that great, they are falken ZiexZE 512`s, I'm thinking to upgrading them to falken FK-452 Tires soon. I've read that you have been autoxing for 2 years now, man I got some catching up to do , I'm planning on turning my tC into a pure track car, I should be buying a second car early next year prob. an xD, once I do that, the tC will get completely gutted, anyways...thanks for posting and maybe I'll run into you at the track some day.

i am going with one of these three for my next tires:

-Toyo Proxxes 4
-Nitto NT55
-BFG KDW2

i am still not sure of which one, it will come down to what is availible at the time.

if you are planning on using the tires for a daily driving, those are your best bet.

if you plan on using them strictly for racing, then get the NT-01's... awesome tire.

Thanks, I'll look into those 3 as well, I do need some track/street tires. I'll get the NT-01 next year when I really get serious about this.

if you're really looking for track/street tires... id suggest Falken Azenis RT 615's, not really too much on the pricey side considering that its a great autox, track, and STREET tire, its performance is outstanding for the price, just becareful driving in the rain once you break them in, but the good side of azenis being broken in is, the more you use them, the stickier and stickier they get! ive autoxed on azenis, unfortunately not on my tc, but on my boyfriends mx-6 (used to be mine). those azenis put my ES100's, and his street tire (which are the ZiexZE 512's same as yours) to shame, as well as many other street tires. if you cant tell already we practically swear by falken.

If you really really wanna go hardcore go with R-comps, since you are doing track most of the time any, and R-comps can be used at autox as well. Hoosiers are good but extremely pricey however, Kumho 710's which some of the hardcore autoxers use, are just as good as Hoosiers, for cheaper and last a lot longer. NT-01's are really good too,

since you're just starting, now you pretty much know the limits of the Ziex's, when you get a better tire, try a local autox and test out the tire, push it to its limits out there so you'll know the limits of it, and can push it alot harder at the track events. id say upgrade to a better street tire, such as the azenis before going to r-comps only because r-comps cover up alotta mistakes a driver makes, i cant quite explain it, but my friend always told my boyfriend and i was to autox on crappy tires before going to a stickier tire, helps you become a better driver.

what size wheel are you running? the stock 17x6.5 i believe it is, or 18's? wheel size makes a big difference too

Thanks for the help, I'll prob. try few diff. configurations until I find the ones I like, I am running 18x8 forged wheels with a 45mm off-set(I hope to add some spacers to widen my stance soon), BTW...a buddy of mine is running Azenis on his tC and he loves them, those might be good for when I go all out, thanks again.
