well, the evo is a manual, so there is a chance of driver error, the aston is an auto, all the guy has to do is push the pedal as soon as he sees green.
but with all wheel drive and assuming the driver is good i'd say the evo would win. aston martins are fashionable and luxurious first, with less emphasis put on performance.

That's a tough question because the everything I've seen about the DB9 shows a 0 -60 of 4.9 sec whereas the Evo has many different times depending on the site.
Considering the Evo is modified and a manual I'd give it the advantage in the 1/8th if the driver knows how to utilize it's full potential. The 1/8th is all about quickness. Having all wheel drive and the capability of a high RPM launch should make it a little quicker off the line.
In the end every race is a driver's race if the cars are fairly closely matched.

honestly i think it is all about the driver. on the db9 even though its an auto its a very well built gearbox. i have driven a few porsches both manual and slush and honestly i dont think if i was really good i could shift faster than the auto.. in fact i know i am talking about different cars but the new 997 porsche 911 turbo is faster in an auto than manual.. food for thought.
who cares? the db9 makes you need a change of panties when it opens up.
are you sure the guy doesn't have paddle shifters or some sort of rev control like most high end autos (and randomly the honda fit haha)?

Evo will win hands down. the DB9 wont be able to grip aswell at the start and it's much heavier then the evo. as long as the evo driver doesn't miss a gear he/she should be fine. on a 1/4 mile, the DB9 has a crap start but makes up for it when it starts to stretch it's legs, when it comes to an 1/8, the evo will eat it alive.
