One of our vendors at the dealership has one. That thing is FASSST! I really like the European-inspired center exhaust tips...

True but those Jeeps are badass. No offroad ability at all but damn when you punch it and the 6.1 HEMI throws you back in the seat its insane. Similar to the feel of the S/c RR sports at work but without the blower whine (what a great sound). I bet you could trade your tC and finance one. I saw an SRT-10 Ram for $29,999 a few months ago. I'm not sure if the Jeep is the fastest production SUV in the world but it might be damn close.

I wouldn't even give 2secs worth of thought of trading in my tC for a Jeep GC SRT-8. I'm to much into wanting to take it off-road if I'm in an SUV. I would opt for an FJ Cruiser instead, if I wanted to go higher off the ground, instead of lower. It's fast for an SUV nonetheless.

Turbo your tC, you will for sure get that "back in the seat" feeling...

I've raced the Trailblazer SS. That's a fast SUV too. 395hp in that one.

Trailblazer SS is just as quick as the Jeep GC SRT8. They both run like mid 13's.

i did some work on a shop that did nothing but hemi performance, they had a supercharged ram, twin turbo ram, 11 sec 300C and one of these jeeps except they were swapping out the engine with some other bigger motor and twin turboing it

My Friend just bought one this past Thursday its all Black (he already threw some 21 inch TIS rims with Perilli's Wrapped around them)
And so he took me out in it just to show me how "NICE" it is..... DAMNNNNNN!!!! THING IS FAST!!!
When you hit the gas you can feel/hear the monster that is under the hood! It's not fair to have 450hp AWD out of a HEMI!!!
I want one sooo bad, but like Travis said i'd most likely destroy it off-road! But they are REALLY nice!

I went to the SRT Track Experience last year, and got to drive all the SRT vehicles.

The GC is the second fastest SRT vehicle besides the Viper, and it will dominate any autocross track. 6.1 Hemi pushing 420/420 to all four wheels, Brembo brakes, Bilstein shocks, and tires bigger than your house... for $44,000? I'd kill a man in cold blood for one of these.

I think the Cayenne Turbo might still beat it in terms of speed, however...

cayennes aren't faster than the jeep srt-8 grand cherokee. even the new cayenne turbo s isn't faster. yeah, they have alot of hp, like 500, but well, they weigh over 5100 pounds without a driver. but they can actually go off-road with the variable ground clearance adjustible suspension they are offered with.

but they are too expensive and unreliable, my dad has an 03 cayenne s. thing is always at the dealership for warrented repairs.

as for the jeep cherokee srt-8. yeah, it does some neat things, but i would rather get a car that goes as fast and gets better mpg, and handles better. trucks are for working, carrying, hauling, towing, and off-roading.

i'm not knocking it, just voicing my opinion like everybody else is.

oh yeah, and that hennessy srt 8, can you say extreme hydrolock hazard?

I think the title of this thread should be changed.

Yes the JGC SRT8 is pretty dang fast for an SUV. But the title of "fastest suv", not so sure about. The 395hp Trailblazer SS runs the same times at the track (low 13's).

PS....raced a Trailblazer SS before, (back when I was on 7-8lbs of boost). Did a 40ish roll on the interstate. Started in 3rd gear. He hung with me all the way through 3rd. 4th came, and I started walking away.

Would have been ____ed if I lossed to an SUV...
