with a natural box, you might as well just not touch the gas pedal and let him take off.
i personaly don't like turbo because of it's lag time. thats why man kind invented the super charger, zero lag time and instant boost. even then though, with a super charger and nos and the right intake and exaust, you still wouldn't have a chance, not if you still only have the 1.5L in there. maybe little chance with a 1.8L 16+ valve, best chance with a 2.4L... if you can fit it in there...
i really don't know what you can fit in there, but you wont beat your freind with the 1.5L.

Perhaps you could find a JATO rocket or something.
If the 'Lude really has ~300HP then you better hope it's got at least one flat front tire. I'm sure it's possible to get to that level with the 1.5, but you're gonna need a dump truck full of $100 bills.

Blitz super charger - $4,000
proper intake and exaust - 500+?
performance throttle body - no clue how much, but not cheap
Carbon fiber/ Fiber glass body replacements - another pretty penny
it adds up after a while...

Ok, did a bit of Google-ing.
The xB has a curb weight of 2415lbs.
The Prelude has a curb weight of 2882lbs.
I'm leaving driver weight out for simplicity.
Using a 1/4 Mile ET calculator found here:
http://www.robrobinette.com/et.htm
Car.................................................Prelude..............................xB......................................xB................................xB
Weight and wheel HP....................2882lbs @ 300 WHP.......2415lbs @ 200 WHP.......2415 @ 220 WHP.....1990lbs @ 180 WHP
E/T................................................12.984 sec.......................13.363 sec.......................12.945 sec................12.976 sec
*Remember this was some simple estimating*
I don't know what would be required to get 220 wheel HP (that's almost 260 @ the crank ) out of that engine, but I bet it costs a bit.
Even with a somewhat modest 180 wheel HP (~210 @ crank) you're going to need to get rid of about 425lbs to be on par with the Honda.
Thoughts?
