5k's look like this:

I had a cop tell me once when he pulled me over he saw me w/ those blue hid's ....so this time I learned and got the 5k's - no more blue giving away that im a younger driver. The install is cut and dry. You take out your old headlight bulb. attach the harness that comes w/ your kit. THat will lead into the ballast (the hid box) - comming out of the ballast is a wire which you connect your hid light - then put that back into your headlight. Everything is the same ....your just putting the ballast in between your cars wire and were the stock bulb was

^yea but tell them when you order what kind of car and housing you have because you need a harness which will be included. I didnt know that but include that in a comment when ordering or call them after you order so it gets put in the notes. Cost $60 w/ the promo code shipped

I wouldnt worry about it. Just mount them up closer to the level of the top grille and you will be fine. There are gromets on things so thats as good as it gets. If you are worried about that, take clear silicone and put it over the wires going into and out of the ballast. I might do that if i come accross a tube of it at home somewhere.

Ive only had mine installed and used once since friday but for $60 you cant ask for more. For $60 ya almost want to buy two sets just to have the extra bulbs

Hey m.carroll, is your 5000k HID looks whitish while driving? I had the the 5000k mobilehid and that was white, but then bought the 5000k from hidextra and it cannot even compare. The hidextra ones look really yellowish.

i actually ordered 6000k's. they'll be here by the end of the week. that's actually what i was afraid of with the 5000k's, so i guess its a good thing i didn't order them. your ballasts should be fine, you should just be able to get a new set of 5000k bulbs and fix it right up.

I also got the hidextra 6000k and they are whiter than my mobilhid 5000k. Just my hidextra 5000k doesn't look close to oem. it looks more yellowish than white.

^ but i also do agree that 6k's are great also. I used to have 8k and that was too blue for my taste now - but i used to like that. 5-6k will surely give you a white light from these bulbs
