^hmm, yea i just swapped the ballasts the same side didnt light up so for me it has to be the the bulb or harness. Im leanind towards the harness because it makes a ticking sound. Im sure hid exta will take care of us. Im going to email them. now. Godd luck!

No email back yet and you cant get someone on the phone for tech support either. I need both damn headlights working.:flame:

WangeR 04-19-2011 04:01 PM

Bought my first kit earlier this month.

Noticed that one of the bulbs flickers, I switched over the ballast and the other bulb started flickering, so it definitely was the ballast. The bulb that was on the bad ballast always flickered while the good ballast never caused the bulb to flicker.

I contacted RMA and went through the process of exchanging the ballast. Still waiting for a response. I'll keep you guys updated.

Update: Emailed them last night with the return information, they emailed me today and said the new ballast would be shipped out 5-7 business days.

^ your lucky. I emailed them twice already with no responce.i need a headlight so i may just have to buy anther one and eat it. Which email address to you use to contact them if you dont mind me asking?

for the return help@hidsupport.com

I just got an email today saying my ballast has shipped, included the tracking info

I received an e-mail back and they are willing to swap ballasts, since I think I just had a bad ballast.

The only thing that sucks is in my fit of rage I forgot to mark which one was the bad one, so I have to reconnect the Relay Harness and figure out which one is the bad one :flame:

Thanks for that email, I got a hold of them and my replacements were sent out as well!

I hope yalls new replacement works. I've been rocking HIDextra kits for over two years now and never ran into a problem. I'm also running an optional relay harness.

Yea same here guess some people just got lucky with the kits. I've been running no.e for 2 years now with no relay harness. But getting ready to add one just be safe in the long en.

^x2, been wanting to get a relay harness but haven't gotten around to it, laziness I guess.

jnaval 04-25-2011 02:12 AM

I'm thinking of either picking up a relay or some high-performance halogens.

Lol go pick one up man. It's only like $15. It's funny how a lot of my friends have HIDs with no relay harness and then all of a sudden one of their bulbs are out.

I recommend sticking with 5K. Better light output and purist white giving it a nice clean look. I used to want a blue tint to my lights but that was back in the day and the fact that there are so many knock off cheapo bulbs that pull off that look it got played out.
