How did you finance your Scion?

The Scion website just updated their APR rates.

Scion rates.
http://www.scionsolutions.com/posses...inance_buy.jsp

I want to go with TFS, but dealerships may try to screw me or something. My credit rating is over 750 though but still, dealerships just want more money, IMO.

I could go to my Bank or CU, but their rates are at 6% APR for 60months. While I can be qualified for 4.60% for 60months....ARGH!

And if you did went with your bank or CU, how was the process?

Did they gave you a blank check to give to the dealer ship with the amount to be finance?

How about a purchase order? Do you need one made up from the dealership or you used Scion.com's printout and gaved that to your CU before you went to the dealership?

I financed with Toyota and got the 4.5% (it was before jan 5, when they bumped it a whopping .1%).

The way our dealership works is if someone wants to go through their back or credit union, we do an "option contract." They fill out the paperwork and the DMV stuff here at the dealership, and then we set it up like they're going to finance through Toyota. Then, we give them a week to go shop the toyota rates with other lenders, and if they can beat it, great! Bring us the check, and we'll send the bank or CU all the paperwork.

If you're getting 6% with a 750 score, that's not too bad, but it's not great either. With that kind of score, most CU's in san diego will be able to get you low 4's at least! Which bank did you use?

I'm not in the san diego area. I'm not a big fan of big banks. I think I may go with that "option contract." I have to contact my dealership first if they have that option. Thanks for the info.

www.capitaloneautofinancing.com is offering 4.29% for 60 months, but there are somethings to go along with that. You have to fill out the online form ( if you call or use snail mail, you get bumped up .25%, and if they mail you your payment, you get bumped up .5% ). To me, if Toyota is offering 4.6% ( which im really ____ed off about now, cause the dealer told me that with a credit score of 738 i only qualify for 5.5%) then i would go with Toyota. MAN I CAN WAIT TO TALK TO MY DEALER AGAIN

All in all, to everyone out there in scionlife land, i thank you for all your information, and i would have to say, that it appears that my Scion dealer has one thing on his mind, to make more of a profit off me then is usually allowed by Scion. Thank God for this site and all who have given me the CORRECT information, this should prove to be an interesting purchase.

<== Man, im really F*ing ____ed now
