Default How do classifieds work?

My first time trying to buy something on here...I've never done classifieds before. How do you know you can trust someone and how do people normally do transactions here? (or anywhere else on the internet). Like on ebay, theres the whole rating system thing, but here....how do I know someone won't just take my money and run? Does using paypal help in anyway?

sorry if its stickied or asked somewhere before...i did a brief search but didnt see anything

people can scam you, it has happened. Generally, I'd just try to buy from those trusted by the community, not someone who has just registered recently.

See the red bar beneath our names? That gives you a decent indication of who's been around for a little while. (once you hit 1000 posts, it gets full) It's by no means perfect, but it gives you an idea. Someone who just registered and doesn't have a lot posts wouldn't be as involved with the community.

The more people are around, the more people know who they are... these people are generally less likely to screw you over.

I've bought and sold many items here and I have never had a problem.
