Keep posting this, put it in your sig. Make sure that extra thousand costs them several thousands.

Although it sucks that they are adding to the price, there is nothing to call Scion about. As long as it's posted they arent doing anything wrong.
Even though Scions are "pure priced" you should still do some research and buy from a dealer that's not playing the same old tricks. There are some great posts on here that will show you exactly what pure price is, and what it isnt!!!

Yup... not the right thing for them to do, but not against the rules either. As long as that is the same price they charge all thier customers, its within the Scion covenant. Hell, I have my xBs listed $600 below MSRP but that's open to all so it can work both ways.

$1000 is nothing.
When the EVO came out, there was a dealer in Miami who was so bold they just put $10,000 Dealer Markup" in sharpie on the sticker, crossed out 33k and put in $44k...
When you buy a "hot" car, always read the fine print...

Never heard of master value adjustment. What exactly is it? Was it listed on the contract that you signed?

you could have always gone to another dealer...after you saw that extra thousand marked in there all you have to say is no thanks and go somewhere else...i was willing to pay the extra grand cause Ed was a real nice guy and told me about everything...the guy at another dealership i went to wasnt very cool so i went to shore and had a great experience...Ed gives me free stuff almost everytime i see him
you need to stop whining and tryin to "squeeze everything you can out of them" because you either saw the markup and still signed or you signed without reading the fine print

it was the only tC in south jersey at the time...
and the GM is my neighbor
i promised to buy the car from him
he promised to sell the car to me..
its cool.. i understand things happen...
im just trying to stop other people from buying from them
and the GM agree's but he says thats SCION's manager now
not the GM of Toyota/lexus... they added another GM for just SCION
yea thats what i get for first tC in Ocean County for 2 weeks

When a car is in demand dealerships will often try and see it for over the MSRP. There is useually an adendum on next to the sticker that tells you what the ajustment is. It is very common on the Toyota Prius because they are so rare and popular. It was considered by the GM at the dealership I work for to put it on the tC when it first came out, but was quickly shot down due to the fact that we did not want that reputation. What teh dealership did to him was well within the covnent and legal. He is also right though in warning people not to fall for it. There are pleanty of Scion dealerships that want to aviod the reputation of ripping people off.

I think that policy will hurt the dealership in the long run if they do it. They might make a little more off the car, but will lose out big time in the long run from word of mouth.

Not business smart.

Honestly, it that 1000 could be a number of things...it could be a vin etch for all we know...if its listed at the dealership or on their website its fair game. Pure Pricing is kind of a "grey" area to most people. If they add or subtract anything as long as its compliant with their posted info its considered Pure Pricing. There is not a great amount of gross in these cars so most dealers will do anything to maximize profits as long as they do it within Scion specifications. It brings back the old saying, "Buyer Beware." This is why it is imperative to rate the dealership you bought it from on the forum. I have heard some murderous stories about some dealers and the things they have done. Im happy to say that we are a presidents award and signature dealership and we have a great reputation for buying and service experience, breaking that tipical reputation that most dealers have.

i am from Atlatic City, 20 minutes from Shore Toyota. I only go to them for my dad's Camry repairs. (Didn't get that Camry from them, )
I have always heard bad expirences from that place. Their saleperson are too pushy. And forgot to change oil for my friend tuneup, her Corolla's oil light still on after the tuneup.
One time after i pick up my dad's Camry from service, there were noise from under the car. I brough it back to them , after 20 minutes, they said it was road dirt the car pick up. They claim to clean it up for me free of charge. But i think it must be dumb mechanic serviced the camry forgot to tighting a bolt or something. I' m going to Turnersville for my tC soon
