Default Pretty Upset With Sparks Toyota

Hey Everyone,

I just got a call from my mom who was just at Sparks...And she was not happy. Around a year ago, I purchased a leather shift boot from sparks, and a few month ago, I noticed that it was torn probably from just heavy shifting. I emailed Ken, explaining the situation, and he told me:

Hi Mike,

Your boot is still under warranty and you just need to go to your local dealer with your receipt and they need to write a parts warranty. The only requirement is that the part has not been damaged, but is worn/broken due to a manufacturer's defect. Please let me know if you need a copy of your invoice.

Ken
I never made it to the dealer, but my parents beach house is in Myrtle Beach, so I just gave the boot to my mom, so she could go return it in person.

She went to return it today, and Ken wouldn't even come down to meet her to speak in person, they insinuated that I cut the boot with a pocket knife. Which is clearly not possible. The little punk that they sent down to talk with my mom was apparently rude to her too.

I'm pretty upset, and ashamed with Sparks Toyota. This just furthers my cause to order lowering springs from Longo Scion, because its cheaper, and so far all communication has been good.

I am also an Employee of Toyota/Scion, and I will be forwarding this story to the higher ups in the company.

Pretty Sad...
