Default Question for Scion customer's

This is just an off the wall question. My dealership always tells me to ride with the customer on a test drive. That is fine with me. I usually do not ride with them though, because I want the customer to be relaxed and not have to worry about saying something to other passengers about the ride of the car, etc. Most of my customers do not mind taking the test drive on their own, but I do get a couple of people that are uncomfortable with it. I wanted to know what you guys think. Would you rather a salesperson go on the test drive with you or not go on the test drive so you can get a feel for the car. Any input would be great because I am still trying to make this an easier and more comfortable experience for everyone. Thank you in advance.

well i think its better if the sales person comes with just beacuse if i have any ?'s i can ask asap. i would also take another person to site passanger and have the sales person hang out in the back. I think it kinda depends on the person if you are good at reading some one. I think if you have a customer who is on the edge i would go with so i can give them HONEST positive info when their drivng but only when they ask no badgering know what i mean?

also i think your kinda balzy to let some one test drive with out you in the car i know in my area of southern cali ever time me or my parents take a car the dealer is with them even though my mom drives a porche gt2 and my dad rolls up in a cls500. I mean you would think a teenager would mess up the car but not people who drive cars like above.

just my .02

I went to the dealership twice to test drive the car, didnt actually drive it the first time because it was manual so my bf drove. The second time I came back the next day to drive the automatic one. Both times the guy let us go on our own. I was initially surprised that he'd let us do that, I always thought the sales person was always supposed to go. I thought it was cool that we got to go on our own and get a feel for the car and as soon as we returned we got all of our questions answered. It was a different experience, and a good one at that.

It depends on the sales person-if he/she is friendly and honest and provides answers-thn most customers would love to have someone like that. People just get turned off by sleazy salesmen and too much pressure, but someone could get a feel for the car with or without a salesperson
