Default Redline Tuning Hood prop...

Hey all,

Have any of you guys purchased one of these hood lifts while owning a carbon fiber, or aftermarket hood?

My girlfriend and I both own tCs, and while her hood is stock, it works great. I still havent decided to get it for mine cause of the force necessary to close it, (seems like it might screw up the fiber glass underlay.

Let me know if you guys have had the same problem.

Thanks

I was wondering the same thing for my car as well. I emailed Redline and they said they would use a lower psi strut if you put in comments of the payment that you are purchasing it for the use with a carbon fiber hood. I'm still waiting for someone else to do it first for this little mod.

thats why I bought the Tein hood struts. sure it was expensive, but I don't have to do no drilling and stuff. I got mine from a well known xB guy who owns a business.

I have the Red Line kit, and I love it!! Using a wheelchair, it was damn near impossible to open my hood, hold it up high enough and with my other hand, move the prop up into place, while keeping my chair steady. This hood lift was the first thing I did to my car when I got it, and I'm damn pleased with it.

Granted, this post was mainly about CF hoods, I just wanted to add my 3 cents (inflation ya know)
