Damn, I wish they were closer to Cali. What is the max that your state allows you to tint?

^ PA allows 70%, the same as CA. However, 70% basically translates to "no tint". Factory glass tends to come with about 30% light-blocking capability, so any tint installed on top of factory glass will be illegal.

I have 50% tints on my front sides and windshield, 18% around the back. I used to have 18% all over but I lightened up the fronts because of all the po-po trouble.

ahh thank you for the clear up i knew it was a high number so i just said 80% i knew it was something ridiculous, basically no tint at all like Rod C says......It all depends on where you live and how the cops are around you...

RodC, that's correct, but that only applies to the front windows I believe. The back can be as dark as you want. I have 5% in the back, and 20 in the front...no problems yet.

Yes, the backs can usually be as dark as you want. I have 18% and many in Cali have 5% or less on the backs. There are only a few states which regulate the rear tint.

It actually appears that PA allows only 70% on the rears just like the fronts. That's harsh. I recommend the following site for checking out state laws...

I hope you don't have too many encounters with the cops. I used to be asking for trouble with my 18s and I got ticketed about once a month. I actually got more warnings than tickets. The cops were cool most of the time, but not always.
