Default Warranty: Arm Rest Crack

Hey guys, if this is in the wrong place, please move accordlingly...

Last week I noticed that there was a crack in the arm rest, and yes it's my fault. Today I went to my local dealership and told them about it. The guy said if it's a stress fracture it's covered, if it's an impact fracture then it's not.

They said it was an impact fracture (duh) and told me they wouldn't cover it. The part is only ~$40. I left without putting up a fuss simply because I want to make sure.

Anyway, I'm not sure where my paperwork is right now, but are all the details like this stuff in the warranty contract? I didn't go through it that much to notice.
