New to Scion, been driving Toyotas my whole life. Picked up this 2009 xD to scoot back and forth to work in. Also new to the Northeast, so after my rockers starting bubbling just in front of the rear wheel well after a week I thought it was bad paint job until my fingers went through the driver side panel. $1K later I've got new rockers and I've had an unexpected project car for the past 2 weeks. Chipping loose paint, grinding away rust, priming, painting... and everytime I think I've got it all I find something new. In the midst of busting rust I managed to nab an AEM CAI for half-price, acquire some new headlamps (old ones yellowed and fractured), and install a J2 axleback. Almost done with the rust mitigation, applying por-15 epoxy putty to some seams and rear wheel well weld joints and I can finally get this baby out on the road to stretch out her legs. Pics below, not the best glamour shots but best I could get in the garage.
Old headlights out and stock intake/airbox on its way out
