Gen 2 XB with LOW Idle runs near stall in DRIVE and REVERSE at IDLE
Bought our 2008 Xb NEW. Idle in gear when new was apx 700 RPM. Idle in gear (D and R) gradually dropped to apx 500 RPM within the last 18 months. Mileage is 142K.
Replaced: MAF sensor, motor mounts, coolant temp sensor, Throttle body, NO vacuum leaks, spark plugs, uses SeaFoam on long highway trips in fuel tank. Car has plenty of power in gear in city and highway. Xb consumes oil as am aware the 2AZFE engine on some Toyota models "passes" oil past the piston (rings) as Toyota was sued for inferior rings /pistons on some 2AZFE engines. Local dealers cant / wont / dont use Techstream system to reset or reflash ECU. OBD2 scan shows NO TROUBLE CODES.
Can anyone help to reset ECU or reflash ECU or maybe replace ECU to raise idle in gear back to 700 RPM? My 2009 Scion Xb has the exact same low idle in gear problem. We like our Xbs and these are our 3rd and 4th Camry engines but we never encountered a low idle RPM in DRIVE AND REVERSE in any prior 2AZFE engine. Prefer NOT TO HAVE to sell our Xbs.
Thank you.
