Hello all
Hello, please forgive any newbie errors, because I am probably one of the older new folks here, but who is counting? I am also new to: Japanese cars, Front wheel drive, (how strong is it anyway?) 4 cyl (unless you count the '72 Chevy Vega Hatchback), and basic 21st century tech. (hate traction control!) Stepped out of a '97 F-150 & into the cute little xB. It's a '09, Black Berry (or is it Cherry?) Crush, 5-speed. The basic model. #1 selling point: 18,900 miles on it. (& it is just so darn cute)
First thing was to get rid of the minivan hubcaps, quite ugly IMO. Picked up a set of 16" MB 12 spoke rims. polished faces with black background. Looks like it is balanced on tiny spikes, at least to me. I may not see as well as some.
Polished billet grill due any day now.
After some research I have discovered that it is suffering from certain breathing issues, and would be much happier if allowed to breath free, cold air. I fully support it in this. However there seems to be some debate as to the best method to achieve this, just read a few (hundred) posts on CAI, Short Ram, Air box mods, K&N vs. stock, etc. I think the air vent in the bumper is just too cool, love the look & function, but fear THE DREADED HYDROLOCK! This decision can be delayed for a bit however, there seems to be sufficient cold air around here for the moment.
I do go on,
anyway
