Hi all!
Hi all, I am new to this forum, actually my first forum ever! I am a Scion XD owner and have been since August of 2007. My XD just crossed the 140000 mile mark and its starting to slip down the slippery slope of the money pit!?!?
I purchased my Scion as it is Toyota base and need the long life that Toyotas are noted for. My very first new car. I had just paid the thing off a month ago and now the list of things that need replaced is growing. I just changed the passenger side rear wheel hub assembly, WTF? What happened to just changing the bearings, ouch! Cha-ching. Glad I am able to do the work myself, because Firestone quoted a price for that part at $700 pus labor!
Now the muffler has a leak, well the pipe leading in to the muffler has a leak and nobody will just fix the pipe, go figure. So I am hunting for a stock 08' XD muffler if anyone is looking ot unload one.
It has been a good car for me otherwise and now I don't have a payment. I'm affraid of what is failing next!?!?
My gas mileage is around 33 mpg but I have a remote starter so it has been a while since I have been able to get an accurate reading of my fuel economy.
It has been in 2 accidents so far. One hit and run on the driver's side front fender, $1500 worth of damage, and I was rear-ended in December by a young kid which created $2000 worth of damage. Takes a lickin and keeps on tickin!

Welcome! Sounds like it's been a good vehicle to you. I'm sure there's plenty of people you can find holding onto or even selling parts. Browse around and you might even get some other idea's you haven't thought of yet.
