Hi new here...need help
I just bought a 07 TC about 3 months ago from a private dealer. Ive changed the oil now 2 times..and i have noticed my car seems to be burning too much oil. For example..i just changed the oil 1200 miles ago after putting in mobil5000 in it..i checked the oil this morning and it was completly bone dry. Ive noticed a lil smoke coming out the tail pipe too after the car is already warmed up. can someone help me please
If your car is burning that much oil, you have a serious problem. First is your car stock? No modifications?
Take a large piece of cardboard, and slide it on the ground, under the front. Let your car sit overnight, and see if it pools up anywhere.

Just to tell you, this does not sound good. I would rather the oil be leaking from a oil drain plug, that was not properly put back on with the oil change, or your oil pan gasket could be toast (both, are no big deal), but hearing that your car is blowing out more smoke than Snoop Dogg is not a good sign at all. White smoke is usually coolant, but I had a case where it was getting by the rings, damaged the cat, and puffing white smoke while under boost.
You need to be checking your oil daily at this point, hell I would check it every time you drive it. You starve these motors, and they will seize.
Good news - you can get a replacement engine pretty darn cheap from a reputable seller. These are camry motors after all.
PS: Also have a friend drive behind you, and accelerate as hard as you can for about 10 seconds. Ask them how much smoke they are seeing out of your exhaust.
Aside from that quick acceleration, I would HIGHLY advise babying the car until you rectify the problem. No full throttle driving.
Lastly, did the dealer provide you with a 3 month, 6 month, or 1 year warranty? If so you need to act NOW on getting the vehicle to them.

Thanks for the reply...correction..its blueish white smoke and it is not a lot..i didnt know it was even smoking until a friend pointed it out the other day driving hom from work. The main problem is...why is my car burning so much oil. I did not get it from a dealer, i bought it from a private party...(no warranty) I would never even know it was burning oil if the oil light didnt flash every now and then. Im going to take it to a mechanic this weekend and hopefully i can get some answers. also i did put carboard under my car in my garage last night and not one drop of oil showed up...also ive been hearing a very light knocking noise and i know thats not noraml maybe a headgasket im not sure though.
