I have always loved the looks of the tC and just never really thought I’d own one. But my vehicle needs have changed and I needed something smaller that would be fun to drive and still have room in it for gear. I work on guitars/amps/record players/audio gear etc and these little cars have PLENTY of room for that! Actually a surprising amount.
Anyway, while searching around for hatchbacks in my price range I ran into a pretty clean looking ‘05 tC and decided to take it home!
It’s got 142k on it and it has had a LOT of stock work done to it by shops over the years. New calipers, new rear struts, new throttle body, new radiator…
The rear suspension aside from the fresh struts is absolutely clapped out and way out of alignment. I’ve got new trailing arm and rear control arm assemblies on their way already. The front seems tight but the wheel is slightly sideways when going straight so once I get the rear end situated I’m gonna have to go get a 4 wheel alignment on it.
I’ve been told the factory body kit and the apparently Enkei made optional 18’s are not super common so that’s cool.
Next couple months I’ll be fixing as much as I can as this will be my daily. Even with some things wrong it’s still fun as hell to drive!
The only downfall of the interior is not being able to bring the steering wheel towards me. As a 6’ tall guy the seat needs to be all the way back and that steering wheel is far away when you do that.
