My previous car just bit the dust; did great up to 277,000 miles then totally died . I just replaced it with a used 2011 Scion XB with a standard 5-speed transmission; 21,232 miles (honestly, if it weren't for the great deal I got on it, I wouldn't have even considered looking at it; not attracted to the "box" look). Now that I've driven it and gotten used to the boxy look (kinda), it's growing on me . The XB has tons of elbow room and so far my average mpg is around 32. The ride is comfortable and it handles great. I like the safety features and the Pioneer sterio was a bonus. So far, so good. I can honestly say that I am happy with my purchase, although the FR-S is really awesome .
