Talking New to Scion!ADVICE is highly appreciated

Hi scion community! So im 18 and i just got my very first car. A used 2007 scion tc with 54,000 miles. I really want to invest and personalize my 07 Scion as it is still very young and will be with it for many years. I want to modify its performance before anything! I am new to cars in general. What is the very first step I should take in this long process? Let me clarify first that it is automatic. I know its not the most optimal choice but this is a car I want to learn with about mods and such. Can anyone here take the time to give me a detailed response as to what to start with in terms of performance and what I can progress to? The previous owner mentioned that the brakes need to be "bled" and that the engine burns excessive oil. But i looked up threads that say 2007-2009 scion tc's have this common problem. Can this problem be fixed though? If so how? Thanks guys! Please share your experiences with me and some helpfull words of advice. I am mainly interested in performance mods and Im willing to invest up to $8,000 whats the best way to go about this? Thanks guys once again!

If you got 8k to spend, Ideally build a second engine for boost. You could install a turbo kit with a cat back exhaust now and deal with the engine later if it decides to go out.

Skip the small mods (CAI) if you want power. You won't need it when you install the turbo kit anyway.

Most importantly, learn to drive fast (on a track) to be fast. Too funny watching noobs in expensive cars getting schooled by a better driver in a slower car.

Enjoy the scene.

There is currently a recall for engine oil consumption. You'd have to check with Toyota to see if you tC qualifies.

P.S. Welcome to the Life!
